Thank you everyone for the good advice and help. One thing I did not realize is how critical it is to have the bike always connected to a tender. As I mentioned I don't have power to the area where my bike is stored, however that will soon change. Also, the place that services my bike came and picked the bike up today. The first thing he looked at was the battery and he mentioned that I should be using a gel battery over an acid one. I'm pretty sure this guy knows his stuff as he has had his shop in the area working on Harleys and customs for over 30 years. Most everyone trusts him and his labor is much cheaper than a dealer. I know that nothing is better than being able to do the work yourself, but I chose to let this guy to do the repairs just for peace of mind. I was told that I should be up and running with in a day or two. I was feeling so relieved that I'm going to treat myself to a dakota digital speedo and maybe an S&S dual runner if I can get enough beer in me.
