I ripped my intake apart again, squared up the areas that I ground down to make damn sure it was sitting on the head correctly, put some o-ring sealant and there are no leaks now 100% sure of that. Went up to a 33 int. Jet and now my a/f screw is back to where it should be 1 3/4 turns from seated. ALSO..I never read the directions on how to set my static timing on my ignition, TDC compression stroke on front cylinder and rotate the module until the status light comes on. Damn sometimes you just have to stop and read the fuckin directions. Timing needed to be advanced quite a ways, thanks for all the help guys I've got her dialed in now!!!

Haha so true man, I'm just glad that I was able to figure it out on my own, I'm no mechanic but there is only one way to learn which is do it youeself, glad to find a site to get some good info

Good for you Brenden. I was talking to a guy on aother forum that metioned you might want to start with a 36 inter/84 main for your altitude as a starting point. He stated if you increase the intermediate, you'll probably need to increase the main as well. Either way, if you got your dog running and running well, that's what it's all about. Ride safe!

2. No increase jetting when gaining altitude = Less air.
2BAD Speak = Lee air means, the jet stream of holes, needs to pull out less fuel out of each blended hole.

So manometer? I've seen them used at work a couple times before. Hook it up to my breather lines I'm assuming? I've done port and polish heads, oversized intake valves, decked heads jugs, 600 cam, daytona twin tech ignition, custom donnie smith 2 into 1 exhaust. I also noticed Ive began to build up some sort of sludge on my intake valve on the rear cylinder and not in the front? What does this mean? Ran a compression test and I'm at 200 psi on both cyl.
With the high flowing heads and your 11+:1 compression your drawing in much more air and fuel. Basically what I think Sven is trying to communicate with his scientific jargon. (reminds me why everyone hates an engineer)

I have close to the same build with 206psi comp. when I had the super G carb I found, with the use of a dyno, it ran best with a 70 main. Don't recall the intermediate size but thnk a 29. I run a PSI carb now.

I'd say pull the float bowl vent, (check the mixture screw for needle damage), set the a/f screw at 1.5 turns out from lightly seated, then start reading the plugs at idle then WOT. I bet your final result is you end up lowering both jets and turning in the mixture screw to cut more air.

Add some techron to you fuel to clean your exhaust valves which is common build up.

Basically if you hooked a garden hose to the manifold you could suck a golf ball thru it on the intake stroke, faster.

And refrain from using a/f. Think of nature returning to atmosphere. No more, no less. It is a balance. And the constant is the 1atmo on the valve close. If not, they would have to change sensors if you change all that modding. So, you are stuck with the constant... N/A that is.

Only if he changes the jet size will there be more fuel. The air is the same. It only moves faster. The gas pulled is the same. You didn't change any volume or orifice size that shows, 'more.' You didn't change the injection duty cycle to change the a/f.

Marvin? I don't see anything there but speed enhancers. A Preset of unplugging of parts, adding the same parts is parts. No doubling of the atmosphere.

That is what I am saying. Forget the other strokes. To add more air, first you fill up the glass of water. Lets use that for an analogy.

How could I fill up more water (gotta think air now) if the atmo neutralized > like the tanker implode? You would have to fill up the glass is volume to 1 atm. Then to add more air, you would have to pressurize it over 14.7, correct?

Having an '05, I've had my share of electrical/mechanical issues and have torn the bike down on several occasions. Not sure how I ever survived without a manometer, but I did. I'm sure the manometer hasn't been around forever. How in the hell did anyone tune their bike before the invent of such a wonderful, tell all piece of equipment? It was a beautiful weekend and the dog is running great. Brenden, hope you got some riding time in too. This is your thread!!!! Sorry it got jacked so many times but glad you got ur dog running.

Wait a minute. Am I some punching bag here? Next in line? What I wanted to do was clean the plug up. The rush was the S&S settings and all that. Who was on top of it? I am not a tuner by any means. It takes math. I leave that to them. I'm more a tune up guy.

I am hands on, in the trenches. My learning curves are literally that. Is there an AFR meter on your bike, camera pointed? I'm not going to assume this time.

Hey, the only way I can tune that aprilia is by ear. No low screw to blend, meaning, and no idle cable. Electrically I am stuck. I tried with a manometer. This bike takes an 02 sniffer machine to set up the idle off both cylinders. Big buck tools. Cheaper for the dealer to do it. Think the OP and I would let someone touch ours? Not one dime needed, we have ears, BB.

If you have an ear... I pound that manometer one cylinder at a time. I set my air to read 15:1 (+/-) AFR. That says, key off, last memory sniffed. Forum the concept, read the abstract:

"I set one air screw at a time. Year getting sleepee. I balance one screw [to the other]. Watch the shinny thing swing back and forth. Year eyes are getting seaweepee."

I can't help you if you can't see it. It is all about: How low you can set the idle with peak flow. It is all about how the slide is down with needle sent home. The lift up > Is peak pull. That pulls fuel faster out (lagone) as the needle rises. You ear lag that transition. Man0 nails it.

YOur ear sets the tune with the U or the transitional lag happening. The man0 sets the peak with0ut the lag. That line transition looks ------. Yours: -----___---- When the needle rises. You have no clue where it is. The man0 does.

SEAmoooooooothe air flow and man0up." :roll: Nature knows where to set the faster flow.


Basic Science. :whoop: You are getting whooPassed UP! PazYearAzzUP = Pay UP. Remember, I reverse the science, connected those penultimates together.
