bigger springs with .600 cam?

Does anyone know what cam they put in the 04 107's? If not do I have to pull the cam completely out to find out?

Don't know what the exact specs are (lift and duration), but know that my 08 K-9 (carbed) came with a 546 cam.

Cavracer21 I have a 2009 and had to put the 640 springs in if you went to do it the right way all so keeps the values from floating at high rpms.I have a set of 640 springs with only 500 miles on them for sale.Beagle Man.

Yes if you went to do it the right way and in time keep the valves from floating.I have a set of 640 springs i just took off my motor with 500 miles on them.Beagle Bog

I have the 600 cam in my bike and here's the bottom line. S&S recommended that I change my springs. Yes some are running the 600 with stock 585 rated springs and have had no issues. I ran mine that way for about 500 miles with no issues at all. But I started to feel like I was maybe sitting on a ticking time bomb and didn't like it. So I had the 640 springs and roller-rockers put on for a piece of mind. IMHO stick with a 585 or so unless you want to open up the wallet. $180 springs $470 roller rockers about $350 labor if you have it done and while you have the heads off you may want to do some machine work so that's another $350+. So what's in your wallet?

Actually if you're on a budget, you can remove .015" to .025" from the bottom spring collars, and you'll be able to get a .600" cam in there. :eek:
Just remember to measure lower collar thickness before, and after the cut.

Dave at R&B? Yep, he put a 656 in my 03 Chopper and I didn't need to change springs...I ran the hell out of it all last year w/out a problem...there were a few on here (that I had to respectfully disagree with) said it wouldn't work...still running strong and I can feel it pull harder from 2250-4750 rpm.

S&S has a full tutorial on cam swaps and push rod adjustment. Pretty straight forward. Great video. Our brothers phrase " why have someone else fuck ur bike up" kinda changed the whole way I do things know. What one person can do , a mother person can do! Yes?
