Loud chirping noise after oil change/oil Filter. Bike sounds HORRIBLE!

I have a HyoGT650R that is just not sounding right. Here is a private message i sent "Mofaster" as he was going through something similar. Oh, BTW, I dont know what a tappet screen is...HELP!

The air bubble I had really was because I put the tappet screen in backwards and it got smushed. I assume that is what you mean by the oil filter? So, I thought that was the problem. Make sure you check it's not damaged. Unfortunately, my noise is back and it looks like mine is actually coming from the transmission....I only have 3500 miles on it. I wish the tappet screen would of been the issue. Good luck.

Oh and before the bike died on me, i could hear the chirping noise really low. No noises at all before the oil change though (I changed the coolant/antifreeze too during the oil change).

Get the air out of the coolant system then work on an better description of the bike we are working on.

Well its a Hyosung GT650R, Vtwin, liquid cooled carborated bike. It starts up but theirs a ringing noise when i open the throttle, not just when i am in gear. It sounds like its coming from the motor. All the air in the coolant system is out, i topped it off after lightly reving the bike a couple times.
What happens if you put in the oil filter wrong way in? Also i can smell a light gas smell when i start her up but maybe im just over analyzing coz i checked all the fuel lines and tank.

Yea but what happens? I know it definitely wouldn't filter the oil but where is this chirpy noise coming from and how can i fix it? I miss riding my baby, the vtwin growl sounds like a little birdy is stuck in there

if you have it flipped you are blocking the oil path and the chirping is the oil trying to squeeze by the blockage, or you have just scarred the engine due to oil starvation.

either take it in and have it looked at or find a document showing the way the filer is supposed to be installed and redo it to make sure.

After you do that start the bike with the front tire on a curb and the radiator cap off. That will get the air out (if there is any).

I immediately put in the filter the right way in once i realized, and that's when it finally started up but the engine sounded horrible and would die on me at every red light. The sounds def coming from the engine, regardless of whether the clutch is closed or not. Could it be the lifters?

My guess is that you starved the engine of oil and that you have an issue that should be looked at in person....either that or start tearing into it and see what is up with it.

Your owners manual states the following:

"CAUTION When install the oil filter, necessarily,
“ HYOSUNG” character and
“16510HN910” part’s NO. install toward
the outside, otherwise can damage the
engine."

It appears that you've tested and successfully verified that CAUTION statement to be true.

Have you considered replacing the engine with an S&S model?

Yea i think im going to have to open her up and see whats what, i just hope the actual twin lifters arent slamming on dry aluminum - but im pretty sure thats what it is coz what other part of a motorcycle can make a consistent noise like that and increase when i open the throttle - Fingers crossed, ill keep you guys updated!
