BDM Performance Parts

so let me get this straight.

guys who bought 09's and newer, who lost their warranty and i would guess their recalls with BD's bankruptcy, are now going to be able to purchase those warrant and recall parts from a shell company owned by Coleman?

and it seems they are going to bypass the dealers, again (ebay), and sell direct to consumers?

if it looks, feels and smells like shit then one would be pretty damn ignorant to call it something else.

i would go aftermarket as much as possible, then go to the couple of sellers who did dealer buyouts, for parts needed.
Very interesting observation and without knowing the facts, it does appear that such may be the case. If so, not a good way to treat customers or dealers that have stood by them till the end.

Will see how it plays out, but for now when I need a part will work with my old dealer to see what they can do to get what I need as well as some of the site supporters on here and other location. BDM Performance will not be near the top of my list unless it is the only choice, especially if they go the route that Sul is smelling and it does seem to be stinking somewhat. We will see!

I have bought stuff from them Migel is the guys name and the grips and pegs Ive bought are outstanding and quality is high I woodnt hesitate to use there stuff at all
I have a customer that has them on his bike, which is how I found out about them. We are now a dealer for DLXProdox! I think it is a great alternative and wish I would have known about them sooner, especially when it was a very long wait for BDM's stuff.

BDWB and Marv, I completely understand the frustration. I am a dealer; however, I can't answer for the decision making on the manufacturer level. I agree that more communication with the end user would have gone a long way. I can just do my best to help out where I can. Feel free to PM me if you have anything that you think I could help you with. If I don't know the answer to anything, I do my best to find out! :2thumbs:

Sounds great! I've never been involved in a group buy--I don't know how to facilitate it.

You would have to get with the supplier and see what kind of deal they will give for a group sales. I'm interested in a full set up grips, pegs and passenger pegs.

Amy - re: grips - I've used several sets from them before converting to standard HD bars and controls. Here's a tip. If you notice they feel lose or hear a slight rattle in the grips, look inside your old stock grips and you will see a round plastic tube - it's glued in there but can get it out with needle nose, stick it in the new ones and problem fixed.

BDWB - Membership #26 = respect.

Colemans business savey is not the best. Smart thing for him to do for parts is run a big ad here and become a major sponser of this site...

Parts not an issue for me, no propriatary stuff on my bike anymore...

Kinda have to agree with Marv,I mean,I know business is business but………Think about it,anybody who has a recall issue or a warranty issue(that you've paid for)now has the golden option of BUYING your problem parts from the very owner of the company that just closed their doors on you,,,,,It's great to be able to get genuine parts if you don't fall into that catagory.......Maybe he could cut guy's a break if it is a recall or supposed warranty part,,,,,ain't gonna happen because like i said business is business.Just my thoughts.

I hope the first sale item is the way overpriced unprooven NEW edition speedometer they came out with......
My issue is BDM just went outta buisness 3 weeks ago,yet some of you have had many parts backordered for months upon months, and just because he is opening a new company with the same parts..all of a sudden they become available???? Well please tell me where they came from and just where were these parts prior to the closing of the company?????

Not holding my breath on this actually happening -- then again I don't have to care since I got rid of the proprietary parts a couple years back. Will affect the value of the bikes for resale though...

I agree and I hope this works as a short term option for them and maybe in a few years they can start making bikes again.
I wouldn't be thrilled either if they went out of business during my warranty period but the bike is great and I really only had a clutch cable break during my 2 year warranty anyway.
If they do this right they should expand the parts they offer for customizing and their clothing line.
