I brought my mutt in for a 5000 mile service. The tech noticed that the oil line from the filter to the oil bag was leaking. Four weeks later they are still waiting for a warranty oil line from big dog. They tell me they have no clue when the hose will arrive. I will give it two more weeks then I will pull the bike from the service center and fix it myself with an in stock drag specialties oil line.

Raywood's Twin Brother

Christmas Eve I'm at my buddy's shop cutting down my rear fender and I guy pulls up on a 2005 Chopper. Start talking with him and he tells me he's a retired Marine. Tell him I like to ride a lot - Takes me to his bike to show me his odometer. - 53,000.

Never had the motor out - no issues with EHC, etc etc.

He's done a couple of cross country runs... Black 05 Chop.... retired Vet....
Sounds like Ray's twin....

i have been thru 2 speedos,1 clutch cable and 1 shattered clutch basket now i have a leaky fork seal. these are minor problems for a high performance machine. 15k miles- never been stranded (i did have to power shift home when clutch blew up) love my dog and all the attention that it gets. i would buy another, just not a new one next time

:2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:Had the opportunity to Ride home in a Louisiana Thunderstorm today. We had Tornado Warnings and a Watch in affect. Lighting was all around. Not the smartest thing to do! But I was getting off work and going home soaking wet was worth it (You got it, I didn't plan for rain - no rain gear). I had my concerns about my 2008 Ridgeback (not more than a month old for me) since reading some threads that dogs don't like rain. DoubleD sold me an awesome bike and I can't keep the grin off my face. To keep it short, I will only say I don't know why I was concerned. The Dog ran great and didn't care that it was pouring buckets of rain. I will admit that riding in a bad rain storm is not smart. If I wasn't at work and wanted to go home some kind of bad, I probably wouldn't. But, what a true test of a Dog that doesn't care about the water. Actually, I am not scared at all to ride any of my bikes in the rain and the latest addition to the family also plays well in the water:D:D:D:):):)

Many of us ride in heavy rain on a constant basis with no issues.
Some do yet most have no issues.
Good to hear you had a positive ride and you got home safely.:2thumbs:
I have also never had the pleasure of wearing official rain gear even though I know it will rain.
Getting in the "bubble" is enough for some of us.

Ride with Raining Raywood and you will be very wet in no time.

Smart ass, yes Knotso and I have run many miles in heavy rain in the PNW. Never a problem except for being wet and mildewing leathers :D

All your comments re-assure me I did the right thing. I'm picking up an 05 Ridgeback on Sat. It has 7,000 miles on it so it's fallry young still! I can't wait!

Having knocked out a couple of 700+ mile days riding alone in 2014, this Big Dog will go down in history as one of the most reliable motorcycles I have owned. :choppersmiley:
