wont start turn signals flashing

Hey guys im new on here and basicly have a problem.I own a 2006 k9 and when i turn ignition on turn signals , nuetral lights flash tach tops out and when start button is depressed nothing happens any clues?

Your battery should test 12.8 volts minimum. If that's the original 2006 battery then it's definately due for a new one.

While we're on the subject, if it is at 12.8 volts and the engine clicks but doesn't turn over, could you still have a bad battery?

It's possible but not likely. I would disconnect the GREEN starter solenoid wire at the solenoid and run a 16 gauge test wire to touch to the battery (+) terminal. BIKE IN NEUTRAL!!! If this method doesn't do any better, then the starter solenoid contacts or mechanism may be bad if the battery tested good.

This way you can bypass the EHC for testing.

OK $134.00 LATER REPLACED THE BATTERY AND STILL SAME PROBLEM #$%^

DO I NEED ECM RE-FLASHED AND CAN I DO IT MYSELF AS THE CLOSEST BDM DEALER IS 1 HOUR AWY ANY IDEAS

Check the wire crimps on all the wires that connect to the battery terminals. If some of these crimps are loose (especially the wires that feed EHC power) things will act weird like a bad EHC.

An EHC flash may help and would also upgrade the speedo reset after start issue. This new flash makes the speedo do a second reset needle swing again after the start button is pressed. It was done because the speedo would go wacky after a start due to low battery voltage during starting. Resets once after turning on the ignition key and again after starting.
