Just wanted to know out there if the K&N E-3226 air filter that most use on their carburator scoots is the same one that I would use on my 08' Mastiff EFI. I am pretty sure it is since it is my understanding that the air filter cover is the same on both.......just need confirmation. Thanks in advance.

I run a K&N on my EFI and looked for the box this morning before I left for work but didn't see it. I can't remember having to do anything different but I will pull it off the scooter and see if it is marked for ya....

Thanks for the reply Neil. Just to update you I was trying to decide between the K&N 3226 and 3260. The 3226 is 2.5" tall, inside diameter 4.625", and outside diameter 6". The 3260 is also 2.5" tall with an inside diameter of 5" and outside diameter of 6.375". I took the stock filter off and measured it to see which would work better. The 3226 was slightly smaller than the stock air filter and the 3260 was slightly larger, but the measurements for the 3260 were closer. I just ordered the 3260 because after measuring I didn't see any issues with clearance and it appears like it will be seated flush against the throttle body plate with no gaps. Same goes for the air filter cover. Should be here in a few days. Worst case scenario it only cost $30 and I can just get the other one. Also the tab on my intake hasn't been broken off as of yet. We'll see what happens when the filter arrives. I saw a while back another member had a similar issue. Sounds like he also went for the 3260 but I believe his had a carb.

Just put on the E-2360 on my scoot. Seems to be a perfect fit and replacement for the stock air filter.

Hey, just curious what you mean by ".. the tab on my intake hasn't been broken off as of yet." ??
Thanks for posting the part number for the filter that worked.

Don't have a pick here but if you search you will find one. On the back plate of the air cleaner there is a horizontal tab the transition from the flat part of the plate to the angled part that goes up to the carb throat/intake. The stock air filter has a slot in it for the tab but the K&N doesn't so peeps either snap it off or grind it. There has also been debate on weather it is neccessary. Just depends on the air filter. Might do some searchin on here hter has been discussion about. :2thumbs:

Thanks V, hadn't heard of that, will do a search on it.
Sorry for the double post, not sure what the hell is up with my cell phone when I post from it.
08Mastif says E-2360 fits good. Lean says E-3226. Guessing they both work??

FYI, I just installed the E-3226 and it seems to fit perfect after I removed the tab on the rear per the instructions. I used a dremel to score the tab and then snapped it off. After, I used the dremel to grind the remaining material flat. Leaving the tab in will elongate the filter on my G carb.
