Would a Cow Catcher, I think that is what it is called on the frame, look good on a ridge back or would it look stupid?

It's called a chin spoiller ( Took me a long time to find that out ) I'm in the process of installing nitrous on my K9, I got one to cover all of my valves. It looks greet , just not painted yet. You can get them from your dog dealer, Can't remember what model it comes on. You will have to custom make your bracket.. I'm going to post pks. of everything as soom as I'm finished.

I had a fiberglass one on my 2006 k-9. It looked alright but hung down about and inch lower than the frame, I kept dragging it going in and out of mini-marts on the curbs. I finally got tired of it and removed it after repairing it 4 times.

RETIRED
They came stock on the 07 Bulldog and set even with the bottom of the frame. I think they look great. Only problem is they stay chipped up from gravel and road debris.

That is why I removed mine as well from my 07 Bulldog....

I hadn't thought about that!!! Thinking,, thinking ,, Would powder coating chip as bad as regular paint?
Keeping in mind I don't ride in the rain unless caught out in it, and I don't do any trail riding either, the bumps on the main roads are already hard enough on my butt. Still thinking about it while it sits on the "Tender".

Thanks you all,

I've thought the exact thing.
I've even gone as far as thinking all the fabrication up. All a guy would need really is thin metal, a MIG welder and patience. The only thing I wasn't sure about, was how to attach it. Would somebody mind posting a pic of how they're attached on the Bulldogs?

I look at it a s the first line of defense:2thumbs:
I think that's what 'downtube' tool bags are for! Mine sets down there (bottom of it even with the frame). It catches a lot of road crap and gravel, but wipes right off and it it discolors, Black leather dye!

Looks good and multi-functional.

I like to refer to the stock one on my Bulldog as a dirt scoop. It directs a lot of air and everything else to the front of the motor. You see what the bike looks like when the land crabs are breeding :bang:

My front spoiler is covered with 3M stone chip guard clear plastic and it looks like new. No problems kicking up dirt on engine due to riding on clean asphalt roads (no dirt). The spoiler is just a 1/4" lower than the frame the way it's mounted on the front VR bracket.

Yes Sir that is what I needed to see, and I am with you on riding on clean asphalt and not trail riding. Your scooter is looking good as well, really good!

Thank you,

Thank you Jake. That looks really good on both those scooters, kind of a streamlined affect. And thanks everyone else , Gunny included , I know where to get one now too!
The way it looks it would keep the road crap off the motor area and easier to clean that, than the motor.

Thanks , Again ,

I like the look on the ridgeback profile it looks like one piece. the 3/4 view on the k9 shows gaps at the down tubes.
