Bikes with a lot of rake in the neck need extra degrees i the trees to bring the trail into the "safe" zone.is there a reason they put the rake in the trees rather than the neck of the frame? - I have read anything other than zero degree rake in the trees is dangerous
Sport Rider-motorcycle sport bike geometry rake trail ride heightTrail gives a motorcycle stability because of the self-centering effect caused by the front wheel being behind (or trailing) the steering axis. Too little trail, and this self-centering effect is decreased to the point of instability. Too much trail, and the effect is so great that steering becomes heavy.
