In A Second

If the right one come along I would hesitate. I would do what some others suggested.

I discussed arrangements with one guy that had a BD on ebay. I advised him that I would make a $500.00 deposit with a credit card. When I arrived and something wasn't as had been presented, I would expect the deposit back. Other than that I would either buy the BD or lose the deposit.

I didn't because it was just too far away.

I've been thinking about selling my 05 Ridgeback. Money is real tight here right now. It needs to have the rocker box tops re-chromed but other than that it's fine. I want to keep her real bad so i'm just askin what do you guys think it's worth? It's got about 5500 miles on it. Black burple single ghost flames, stash tube, Braille battery, battery tender, Cruise mate, passenger pegs and pillion pad, it's never been driven hard, all the recalls done.

I bought an 08' pitbull on ebay. after searching around and doing my homework i finally found one that seemed legit. had someone look at it before i closed the transaction.
the bike was shipped within a week using JC motors.
initially had some minor issue with the clutch nut....fixed.

feel pretty good about the bike now and have had no problems....................this week!

bought mine off of choppers .com

I bought my 05 ridgeback about a year & a half ago on Choppers .com. John Robinsons motorsports around Sandiego Calf. I had a wonderful experience. If I tried it again it would probably be a disaster. But my 05 turned out to be everything that john said it was. I had it trucked coast to coast to my driveway in Pennsylvania!

I almost did. If I hadn't took the time to drive the 800 mile roundtrip total that I did, I would have been "Pissed Off". There are differences in opinion when it comes to stating a bike is immaculate, and I for one have a VERY high standard when it comes to being immaculate.

I would not buy it without seeing it or having tons of close up pics and someone trustworthy to check it out for me if it were too far to go see.

Just my :zz2cents:

You can get screwed from buying a used bike from a dealer just as quick as you can from EBay........or have a great experience from dealing with either.:job:

Big Dogs are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get!:whoop::cheers:

Yeah, but you got exactly what you were expecting. My ebay experience has been, if it's a big ticket item, you better view it, check it, test it, whatever, IN PERSON before you pull the trigger!!!

I almost bought until I found out it was a scam. The ASS HOLE used a fake add and pics, and we e-mailed each other for 2 days,it seemed real but there never was a Big Dog for sale. They even had a look a like e-bay page for payment but the money was going to a privaet account. This was confirmed by e-bay when I notifyed them. Most of e-bay adds are ok but to be safe I would only buy from a genuine real honest dealer some one like FURY BIG DOG!

I bought my 03' chopper off ebay and traveled all the way to south Texas to get her. Seller forgot to mention the charging system was shot, and now it seems my EHC has taken a dump too. All-in-all, pretty minor problems and completely fixable. Considering the deal I got on the bike it was worth it. Don't pass up a deal on a bike you like just because its on ebay. Just do you homework first.

I would trust this site classifieds before ebay.....less likely some one here would hide known issues......"we know where you live and we will come get you if you fuck with one of our member" :):flag::)

I bought mine off Ebay. Great Deal and Great Bike!
I live in NE Ohio, and custom bike deals are hard to find in these parts.

I paid a 500.00 deposit, rented a trailer and traveled 650 miles to complete the deal and bring it home. If for any reason it was not what it was described to be, I would have NEVER COMPLETED THE DEAL. I would have most likely been out a 1000.00 (deposit and travel), and would have recieved a negative Ebay rating for failing to pay. But I accepted the risk.
I would have never done this without seeing and riding the bike.

I should add... that before I found my Ebay Bike, I had interest in others on Ebay... Some of the things that stopped me cold was when I asked questions like...

I will be comming in person to ride it back, is it ready to ride? (got no response)
Another was I thought I saw something damaged in one of the photos and asked for close-ups of that area. Got photos that were very blurry, etc...

But the one I bought was Perfect

I bought mine on Ebay. Asked the previous owner lots of questions before I came down and told him I was bringing a mechanic. He was fine with it and even offered all the service records from a reputable big dog dealer. Told him I would come with money in hand but had to test drive it first (obviously). The bike was only 4 hrs away so I rented a trailer and drove down to it (without the mechanic). Bike was meticulous and you could tell by talking to him he took pride in it and started to get choked up when I told him I would buy it. Good experience for me, so far so good. I would never buy one without looking at it though.:2thumbs:

Bought mine off a guy on eBay with no prob at all. Found a company on uship.com had it in 4 days from Florida. All you need is the serial and wo numbers and your local dealer can run them and tell you all you need to know about the bike.
