We Will Stand Behind Our Bikes

Hey ... I know that dictator in Africa. He was really pissed off when someone took his $25 mil. Rumor is ... that he hired a witchdoctor, and that guy put a spell on a BD motorcycle. Hey ... I mean ... you think ???

Ha! Ha! Ha!

I guess we went a little too far.
I feel for you as far as your ride goes.
When I bought my 03 chopper it was a long two years of agony with it. Ride it a little, in the shop, ride a little, in the shop, ride it a little back to the factory for 6 months for a frame recall, ride it a little, and I'm tearing down the rear end, I iterate "I'm tearing down" not BD because they said I didn't know what I was talking about, to fix a serious manufacturer's defect in the frame design, which later became a recall for those models and frames "HELLO". Ride it a little and the stator nut backed off allowing the stator to start flopping around inside the case which then destroyed the case, went through four months of Lemon Law crap with BD can't say anymore due to non-disclosure, get a settlement and the K9s come out so my choice is "see note about non-disclosure above", so my dealer manages to works out a deal for me to get the 06 K9 and I still have to come up with another 10 grand to get where I wanted to be. And that was just the first bike. My K9 has had its fair share of bugs as well.
Now with all that negative shit said I have managed to reach a happy place with my 06 K9. Why, because, like many on this forum, I truly love my BD. Sweet riding, bad ass lookin bike that I just kept at until it was right.
All I am trying to say is:
Trust no one. Do what your heart desires. So that in the end you stand on your own two feet and that way, in the end, you have no one to blame but yourself. I have always found that it is easier to get over something stupid that I did to myself than something stupid I allowed someone else to do to me.
As far as your bike goes. You didn't make a mistake. You may need to do some bug zapping to get her dialed in you may not. I have a buddy with an 03 chopper that has had little to no problems with it, of course he only has 9000 miles on it because he rarely rides it. But look at Ray. He's a shining example of what a BD can really do if maintained properly, albeit you could treat her a little better than dropping her during a "naked" ride but hey who am I to judge "LOVE YA RAY". So fix the few issues you have and Ride til you die brother cause life ain't gettin no shorter and F everybody else and their negative chit.
Don't know enough about the rest of your life to make a decision there and from what I have read so far I don't want to know I juz wanna ride and ridin with a brother is ridin with a brother.

Coach,
I never drink and ride, not even 1 beer. I just have issues with sleeping and for some reason I find it better to pass out drunk to sleep. I don't drink for the buzz or for a good time these days. I know it is a issue, more now than ever but I only break out the booze when my truck is in the driveway and the bike is in the garage. I wouldn't even have one beer and ride, I need all my marbles together to ride because I am a n00b on the bike, plus I just wouldn't drink and drive. Thanks Coach.

Why don't the drunk male members post naked photos like the female ones do?

Seriously, Dlandbob, please take care of yourself! Last week, we buried my uncle who died from diabetes. The same week one of my best friends went into ICU from drinking too much. He drinks for the same reason, to drown out problems not for a good time.

Sure motorcycles and money are great, but your health is way more important. Money doesn't buy happiness. Fixing yourself should be #1 not the bike.

I'll be praying for you! Take Care

Thank You Biker Babe!

Yeah, I agree with you, this is a problem and I am addressing it. I am sorry to hear about your uncle and friend.

I know Diabetes is no joke, I have had it almost all my life and now that I am 41 I take care of myself other than the drinking. I haven't had a candy bar, ice cream, cookies or anything with sugar since I was a teenager!!! Sucks to live life like that and now blow it with drinking. Where are there naked chicks posting here and if you really want me to post naked pics, it will cost you but I am willing to work something out... I may not be able to post though, I am hung like a newborn baby :-( I will admit it, just like a newborn.

8lbs 12oz and 19 inches long..........

Bob, here we go, I'm not an asshole we're kinda family here on the forum and when a new member like yourself comes on and right outa the gate is telling us and the world (as per the open forum) that you just got 25 million & you bought a used bike and are cryin about the problems your having your not gona get a warm reception from most of us, we're all hard working guys & gals here that are all trying to make it through this shity economy some of us have had to sell our beloved Dogs just to pay bills & support our familys so are ya kinda smellin what I'm trying to cook for ya ?? then you go on your drunkin rants, you tell us your diabetic and you drink evey night to go to sleep, you might as well put a gun to your head cause thats what your doing with the booze, I'm sure you can be a nice guy that money has brought you alot of grief and it's not over so my advise is to minimize it all by hitting it head on with a clear mind a sober mind after all don't you want to live to enjoy it ???

as far as calling you a "douche with money" to me in your thread thats how you came across, so that being said please seek some help & live :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

Alright ... I guess 'cuz everybody is breaking down and getting sentimental here now.

In your position ... 1'st thing I'd do is to go down to the local Big Dog dealer and buy a brand new BD Wolf. No kidding - why not???

Then I'd haul my other "problem bike" out of your local dealer, because nothing they're doing makes sense. Either your current bike is a lemon (probably not) - in which case take it to another BD dealer and get them to repair it. Or more likely, you made the mistake of telling your dealer about your good fortune - and they're making a profit from the situation. So you can take it to a second dealer, or just work on it in your garage in your spare time. And meanwhile, go ride your brand new Wolf.

cheers,
dT

I'm serious, invest your money in BDM as a SILENT partner. Then you will not only be standing by your bike, but you will be standing by ALL of our bikes!:whoop: Where else can you help 4,000+ BDB folks who all share the same interest...BDM! It sounds like you want to make a recovery of some nature, well so does BDM. If the venture is successful, you would profit greatly. Sounds like a feel-good dream to me!

As far as your current situation, just remember, God opens and closes doors for all of us . . . but sometimes it's just hell in the hallway! . . . hang in there:2thumbs:

Hollywoodjonny,

This wasn't my Intro, I don't know if you were saying this was or you are talking about my intro from a few weeks ago.

I know I talk way to much and I worked all my life and understand we all have issues. I won the lawsuit but I have not been paid all of it yet, just a small chunk of it. As far as BDM, do they really need a silent partner?

I am not complaining about my bike, I love my bike, I am just venting that I was told they would stand behind it and all the little things keep costing money so my point was why say they would stand behind it when they want to charge me. I think the world of the people over there, just not cool with charging me every time something goes wrong.

I would be willing to invest in BDM, money should be here soon, I don't have a date but it shouldn't be to long.

Money hasn't made me better or worse or changed me one bit, just the people around me.

I agree, I need to live to enjoy everything and drinking to pass out isn't the right way to go about this. I am done with the drinking for good...

Thanks for all your support..

Dlanbob,

It seems you have taken the first step and stopped making excuses. I grew up watching my Dad do the sh!t you’re doing and it tore our family apart. My dad has been sober 10 years now and we are making up for all that lost time while he was in a drunken haze by riding together every chance we get. He said he made a choice one day, and the choice was his family over the booze. If for no one else, do it for your son. Put him before all this bullsh!t about money, family trying to take advantage and booze. Show him what motorcycles are all about and create memories that will last a lifetime for you and him. I wish you all the best brother and God bless. EZ$
