We Will Stand Behind Our Bikes

I've been reading the past 7 pages of posts and I feel for you brother. Hitting the bottle is not the answer but I understand your motivation. My wife and I have both been through life altering illnesses and my wife is also a brittle childhood diabetic. My wife has continued to take pain killers every day for the past 12 years.... I just smoke a little weed at night and I always have a stomach ache and soar throat (Crohn's Disease). Everyone has their own chit to deal with; you're not alone. My wife and I choose to live our life to the fullest every day. It's easy to jump inside a bottle but life will continue to pass you by. You can't always control what your body does but you can control what you put into your body. Don't give up and don't ever tell anyone about your money. Too many people will try to take advantage of you. People don't need to know.

Unless you get a guarantee in writing, you're screwed. They may be nice people but I wouldn't give them another penny. Spend your money somewhere else. You can try California Boss Hoss. They're authorized Big Dog Dealers. They're in Harbor City (close to Long Beach) directly across the street for California Harley Davidson. They're good people.

Peace

Thanks All....

Well I made it through the night without a drink. I had a hard time with the ringing keeping me up but it will go away when I get on my bike :)
I know I should never talk about the money, if I wasn't 3 sheets to the wind and just bitching about how I am being played like a fool I wouldn't of said a word. You guys all rule!!! Montana, I have been to California Harley, they did great work on my dads Harley and I saw Boss Hoss when I drove by. They are the only place I can order the rotor but they are far... It's going to cost me 235.00 for the rotor and then I have to have it shipped.

I want to do all the work myself on my bike, it's the only way I can learn, I guess I just need to go to Harbor Fraight and get me some tools.. I bike jack would be nice too.

Now your talkin D. Harbors got just the jack too. Nice low aluminum unit I use for my K9. Better order yourself a service manual too. You need the torque specs and chit out of it. Hey maybe you've found a new form of therapy. I know it works for me and my crazy ass.

Mobsta,

Where do you live? Bless YOU!!!!
Email me so we can talk. Bless your son, he is my hero!!! My brother in law just came back from Iraq and we are lucky to have him back. I have a lot of buddies there, I tried 3 times to get into the Arm Forces but I never pass my Medical because of my diabetes... I tried for the Navy after Top Gun, DAMN IT!!! I wanted to be Tom Cruise, come on all, so did you guys! I tried in 91 with the Marines and couldn't make it and 4 years ago I tried for the Arm National Guard because of my age and I did everything I could to have my blood sugar good, my A1C was 12.5!! That is bad!!!!!!!!!!! The day I took my blood sugar lever it was 104 which is good. Damn A1C! I got it down to 7.75 last time.

Thanks,
Bobby
Bobby,
You are on the track to recovery in more than one way. Go for it. My wife has been a diabetic since she was 8 years old. She is now in the upper 50's. I know from experience that diabetes can be a devastating disease. My wife had bypass surgery a couple years ago because of diabetes. Other than that she has been lucky she has no eye, kidney, or nerve issues. She watches her bs level continually. I know a 12.5 A1C is really bad, but getting down in the 7's is a great start. Hers has fluctuated in the 6's and 7's. I hpe you can continue staying off the booze and keeping your diabetes in control. Are you on an insulin pump? If not that could help you a lot. Take care bro!

I just wanted to add that it's not always wise to post when drunk or high. I've posted some stupid chit after smoking a "J"; mostly stuff that only made sense when I was high. I usually got slammed for the posts too... and it was well deserved. I've always said, "A word to the wise ain't necessary. It's the stupid people who need advice". I need to remember to follow my own advice sometimes.

I'm glad to hear you made it thought last night. Keep up the good work!

Armad,

I am taking pills to keep my blood sugar in check plus I haven't had any candy etc, since the day I found out. WOW her A1C levels are great! My age they thought I had Juvenal Diabetes because of my age but come to find out I got onset diabetes at a young age. I have some issues but they do go away, my eyes were bad with broken blood vessels and now there are 0!!! To funny Montana, the few times I have smoked weed, things make since to me like crazy, I figured the Universe out last time I was high and at the same time I swear I thought if I don't think about breathing I would forget HOW!!! That was too Funny!!!

They way I drink was one second I am fine and typing away and the next thing I know, a big swiggg later, I am out of it.... I know it is problem now, it hasn't always been a issue or been a problem, I just noticed around Xmas when we had some drinks that it calmed my high pitch sound in my ear and I was able to sleep. Since then I have been doing it every night. I can't stand drinking during the day, I never think about it until I am ready to go to bed and once I drink and pass out at 1am, I am up at 4:30 because my back is killing me! Go Figure!

Good job Bob :2thumbs: as they say "one day at a time" its not easy I've been through it with my wife , shes got 2yrs sober this time, last time she made it 3 1/2 so just keep going :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

Weed can give you a whole new perspective on things and make you say stupid stuff. It makes complete sense to you but sounds ridiculous to others... That's why I don't post much any more.:D

I hope you work out your diabetic issues. My wife went on an insulin pump a few years ago and it changed her life for the better..... Her primary issue is Ovarian Cancer.

The insulin pump works well? I went threw the cancer with my wife and it was bad enough to have everything removed but since I was raising her twins since they were 3 I wanted my own kids but the doctor told us that wouldn't happen. We went to a specialist and he said they would try and new procedure but didn't know it we could have kids.
After the surgery they said we wouldn't be able to have kids so we were pretty sad she went threw all that for nothing, but we were thankful they removed the cancer.. Well 2 years later, on my 34th Birthday my wife gave me the best present EVER!!! My little Boy names Ethan!!! Until that day I had no idea I could love anything as much as him!!! he is 7 now, he rules.. He loves the Chopper, wants me to get him one too... I got him a Mongoose that is loves, just like something I would say, we were bringing in the bike and he stopped and said, Wow, look at my bike, isn't she sweet!!!!
Now when I wash my BD, he has his bike out so he can wash it...
Kids Rule!

Hey man....don't beat yourself up over something posted on a forum...there is so much stuff posted on the internet it really doesn't matter anyway :flag: These threads come and go and nobody really cares. I have battled cancer and fought for my life, so I know where you're coming from. That will show you who your real friends are, and the ones that are just "fair weather friends". The good time friends will vanish into the sunset....but true friends will be there for you when nobody else will be. So, don't get caught up in the temporary "feel good" feeling that liquor will bring, and look for a more long lasting remedy. Sadly, you may have bought one of the worst years for a BDM, but if you like the bike....take it to a good service center and it will once again give you that feeling that you are looking for.
