All too true nine. MD give Nines method a try first. Might save you some time and neddless headache.Sometimes you can just turn off your fuel and tap the float bowl with the handle side of a screwdriver, open petcock and see if it's still leaking. If it's still leaking you have to remove the bowl. If you've never done that before, get a service manual.

Would you know if a take off carb that went on a 117 cubic in k9 will fit me 2004 chopper which is a 107 cubic in ........my buddy was one for saleAll too true nine. MD give Nines method a try first. Might save you some time and neddless headache.
Sure if they are the same size. G or E but you can't mix the two due to venturi size. But the S&S carb is so easy and will last forever. Just get a re-build kit for it. Or better yet just drop the bowl and clean it out real good and you will probably be ok. If you get your buds carb it may be in the same condition and you end back at square 1.Would you know if a take off carb that went on a 117 cubic in k9 will fit me 2004 chopper which is a 107 cubic in ........my buddy was one for sale

If you are unsure of doing it then send it to Bob. He's probably close to you and knows his shit. He built that fire hydrant carb that OCC used on one of there bikes and is a sponsor here. I would say the majority of us here have had him work our carbs. Thanks for the info...... i have printed some breakdowns that ya'll have helped me with and i think i may just get a re-build kit
