Spark plug Question ??

RADAMS445

My motor is the 117 in a 06 Mastiff, the stock plug is champion RA8hc. Does anybody use a better quality plug? Someone mentioned Denso iridiums.

I run NGK DCPR7EIX Iridium, Stock# 6046

I find that they run the best and foul less also!

Would you guys recommend the same plug for the 107?
Well they both come stock with the Champions in them. But if you are referring to size then no cause the 107 and 117 use different size plugs.

107 is RN12 something if I remember right and the 117 uses the RA8HC's from Champion.

I've used both the Denso Irradiums and the NGK's and noticed no difference in any of them. I just use the NGK's now cause they are readily available as are the Champions.

remember the spark plug just ignites the fuel mixture, if your bike is set properly the plug will not make much differences. platinum's, and iridium are a little harder to foul. I still use the champions and changes around every 10000 miles but they still look good, ( but I do check regularly on condition. )

100 % CORRECT.
If your plugs are in good shape, you'll not find a tenth of a horsepower by going to the wallet lightening exotics.:bang:

John's very correct, but when is he not :D:2thumbs:, about spark plugs "NOT" adding any HP to your motors. :2thumbs:

I was just kidding around about that. My Bad! :nono: Sorry!

But I do find that the NGK Iridium plugs have a tendency to foul less frequently, which means better overall "plug" performance, along with less need for plug replacement as often.

I think that BDM recommends to inspect and/or replace plugs every 2500 miles.

Inspect - Yes :yesnod:

Replace @ 2500 miles  - No! :nonod: If you do, you've got something else wrong!

Hell, if that were the case, Ray would always be having to carry around two pockets full of them everywhere he went!

Sorry Again for any confusion! :spank:
