Has anyone heard of any upgrades to the S& S 121 wedge ?
Seems all the upgrades have been for the 117

Exaust and air intake. And leave the rest alone.I am sure there will be some things pop up soon. Not alot of X-wedge owners out there yet.If the bike runs strong they way it is,dont open up a can of worms.

It's very strong out of the box. Intake and exhaust do a lot for it. That's one reason I bought the Wolf was for the X-Wedge motor. Not your traditional V-Twin, but I trust anything S&S does. I've put a lot of money in all my previous motors, so wanted to give this a try without all the mods.

I've never heard an X-Wedge running in person. Someone in this forum on another thread said it had "a lot more engine/valve train noise than the 117". What's your thoughts? It couldn't be any noisier than the 103" Harley twin-cam I had in my '03 Screamin' Eagle Roadking! That used to really bug me...I always felt like it was trying to tear itself apart! The 117 S&S in my '05 Chopper and '09 K9 were both much more quiet than that particular Harley engine.

Everyone perceives noise differently, but I don't see it as being noisy. It was supposed to be a bit quieter with the belt drive cams as well. I haven't spent enough time around a 117" to compare the two though. Once off idle, I don't hear anything but Vance and Hines anyway. :)

The Wolf Overheats way to fast, if you get stuck in traffic for more than 5 min just pull over and get comfortable.
