This one here is kind of tough to debate over seeing that a lot of the bikes here are running xXx carbs.
I'm waitng to see how Sul makes out on his.
Although the results on the dyno print out looks awesome it would be something that would need some serious consideration.

The PSI carb is what we're talking about. The bike is doing the wheelie because of the mods and the PSI carb.

I'm Seeing a shit load of Claims but No Backup, Sorry, I aint Buying 12% on Just a Carb Mod........For a 1k Ticket Price........Anything Less then a 12% Gain and it aint worth the Dollars, JMO.

I've Seen as a Combination, Ported Heads, Cam, Springs etc.........But you are not getting 12% out of the Carb out of the Box.
I'm thinking the same thing. Would be good to see a stock BD dyno run then change to the PSI and run again. With same air cleaners and everything else.

Over on the "General" forum. The thread named "psi carbs are the shit". On page three, the guy posted some run sheets. He say's the bottom two are the same bike. 117" with no mods, just the carb. Now in my calculations, the increase he shows is an 18% gain in HP. I'm having a hard time buying it too.

You can believe what you want to but i am not lying about any dyno sheets that i posted. We have done at lease 10 of the carbs and they all are a min of 10 % increase. So call me a lier or whatever but i am not lying about the sheets.

I dont know how else to prove this too you guys. We have a Super Flow Dyno. How we do it is Run the bike with the stock stuff, then while the bike is on the dyno change the carb, then run againg and then we overlapped the two runs and i showed you what we got.

I'm not calling you a liar dude. But you and I both know the results can, and will vary based on the environmental conditions, when the run is made. I'm personally glad you're so excited about the carb. It's gonna make it easier on me to drop the 1200.00 for one. I just want all the feedback I can get before I do. Ya wit me?

It would be nice if one of us could get a hell of a deal on one of these carbs to test it. I'm thinking of getting 1 soon. right after I get it its going to dyno for guy to run bike with g carb to get #'s then swap to psi and run right there again to see gain.

Ok I called PSI a few hours ago and talked to Tim which is the owner. His number is 1 801-393-1030. I asked him many questions about this carb. First, the price of the chrome carb is $1195. He will guarantee the carb to make 6-15 hp more then what you have on there now. If you are not happy return it and he will refund your money which will take about 1 month. I asked him if he had any come back yet. He told me that they sold 650 of these carbs and 3 came back, which 2 of them the customer figured out that there motor had problems and one of them bought the carb again. He told me the average HP gain he has been seeing was about 10-14 HP. Some were about 6-8 which he said was probably a bad tune, and he saw as high as 18(but is not typical). They had a bike with a 95cid engine that made 114 hp and after carb it jumped to 130. ( I'de like to see that dyno sheet). He also told me many stories about very happy customers that said that they couldn't believe how much HP it gained fom a simple carb change. He said that this carb is like a ferrari compared to an S&S thats like an old chevy. He said S&S is old technology which the PSI is the future. He also gave me a place to call that is a BigDog dealer that has installed many of these carbs to get a second opinion Gateway BigDog I think its in Missouri, Talk to Josh or Tim at 1-314-291-6333. He said to call him with any questions. I'm very interested. Hopefully Santa comes soon!

Well I talked to him personally myself also and he told me if "I wanted to get rid of that piece of shit carb" I had on my bike then the next step is his carb.

Well that may be but his attitude towards a company that for 50 years tried to do something better than what the motor company offered just turned me off.

But, if you are looking for the most power then maybe this is the carb to get but if you want an everyday rider what does it give me that the S&S doesn't? I mean for a daily rider I not necessary looking at HP just fuel mileage.

How does it give you so much more power? Is it proper delivery of fuel across the power band? Does it dump more fuel into the motor at all ranges? If so then seems you would just run rich! I mean the S&S can deliver all the fuel you want! Is there a benefit for a stock motor going to this carb over say a modified Triple X?

Guess I will let some of you be the ginny pigs and I will sit back and listen. I personally know of two that have been returned (older generations I might add)!

My 2 cents,
Ray

Keep in mind that just because you have better numbers does not mean you are going to like the drivability. It's the same concept with a race engine. You can run a dominator that is 1050 cfm for top end or a 850 cfm on the street for an all around performer. The guys like sul with the .640 camshaft are going to gain more from a psi due to the nature of the cam. What is the cfm of the PSI vs the XXX vs stock? I want to know which one is the best all around carb the xxx or psi because thats all that matters here. None of us spend all day at the drag strip or 5000 rpm as far as I know? Just fueling the fire:cheers:

Ray good points. See my post on xxx vs psi. I think it's a matter of a larger cfm carb that will give you the big numbers on the dyno but drivability around town that is undesirable. Just pure speculation but the only thing that makes sense to me. The wheel hasn't been reinvented as far as I am concerned.:D
