I am looking for some forks & lowers & I can't seem to find out if a set of 1999 Big Dog Mastiff Pro Street Forks will fit my 2000 Pitbull. Anyone know, or could someone point me in the right direction. Many Thanks up front. Marc

I guess thats the best thing to do. I think I am just going to order them from BDM, some times you just have to pay up :loony:

Call Nelson, he is our sponsor here and discounts BDM parts. He can also send you .pdf files of all the sections of your bike if you ask nicely. :D

Good luck just buying the tubes. I looked into getting just tubes this past spring and BDM told me I had to buy the complete fork assembly.

Discounted from a dealership it was still 1600

You got a picture of the forks?

Are they inverted?

If you go to introduction, title Hello to all & what do I have??
you can see them from the picture. A lot of rust. The tubes in the picture are +6 so I want to get them back to the +2 stock. I don’t want to put to many $ into a new front end, just want the bike on the road. Don't look to hard at that sissy bar, I am working on getting a new one:lol:

Fork tubes can be cut down to length pompey. If yours are in good shape it will save you a few dollars.

I have used franks forks "forking by frank" for other projects non big dog and have been more than pleased with cost price and delivery time.
He made me a 4" over set for my suzuki intuder for much less than a factory pair.

I am having no luck trying to buy just the fork tubes just cant find out what the size is? I know it's +2 from stock, BUT I can't find a standard stock size. The size range from 20" to 24 1/2" I have called Low Country Customs in Garden City, GA. Talked a dave in parts & that was last week I called back & he told me he would get back to me!! I guess I will have to take my forks of & measure & order them sit back & wait. What did you end up doing

I spent 6 evenings sanding/polishing.

Were you able to at least figure out who the manufacture of the forks was when they were sold to BDM?

If you send them an email and ask, you should be able to narrow your search down a bit.

Just got off the phone with John, what a helpful guy found out that the tubes size are taken from standard softail, for the pitbull which are 24 ¼ so John said I will need 26 ¼. Thanks I have this one sorted out:2thumbs:

General fork question

When BDM refers to fork length they usually mention + “something” – I imagine referring to “standard length” + number of inches. What is that “standard length” they refer to?

Staffy the problem I had was finding out what BDM was taking the "standard" length from?? All the HD's models have different standard lengths. But thanks to John:2thumbs: he knew
