Have you checked to see if you have power going into the key switch? This could only really be 2 things, bad key switch, or bad EHC. Battery checks out good and circuit breaker is not tripped. Have you removed the coil cover, pulled out the key switch, and really checked out those wires under there? The key switch wires are just tiny little things and there is a connector under there. Check all that over.

And if it is the key, just go get a $20 sporster style switch and grind out the inside of your coil cover to make it fit. If I remember correctly BD want's like $90 for that stupid little keyswitch.

Vette,
I'm looking at that '04 schematic...too small or my eyes just suck. But it looks like the ignition switch is switching a ground connection "on" to power up the EHC. Check to see if either side of the ignition switch is "directly" grounded with switch off, then check for both sides grounded with switch "on".

Its the EHC dum dum de dummmmm..I know you dont want to hear it but its true...I'm still dealing with BDM about my bike eating my 3rd one..$540.00 Bucks on the last one..!st two were under warranty..had to get BBB to contact them and now they are willing to look at it and see what the problem is that they didnt fix while I still had warranty...Read all of the discussions and you will see everyone with an 07 and down have our problem..I think BDM should fix these bikes..They knew they had a problem when they sold them..

I wish I had more money.
Here we go. And it is not 07 and down. Nothing would make me feel better thant it not being the ehc.

Another round please
Buy the wire-plus and your worries will be over. I just ordered mine. I am on my 3rd EHC and that is my last. It still works but I will be pulling it out when I do the conversion. Yahoo.

:iagree:

But it's kind of hard for me to tell someone else form this point (on the computer) to change over if it (the EHC) is not out for sure.

Most know the EHC is the root of all evil. I have lived it. Been good for awhile now(knock on wood) but the new harness will soon be on the way and will ride much more stress free.

:2thumbs: I hope it stays that way!

And I agree 100%, but still can't "force" my opinion of that fact on anyone, from here on the computer. And I've "NOT" met nor heard of anyone "living through the EHC's like me"! and "HOPE I NEVER DO"! :2thumbs: I'm still Here! :hi:

I guess i'm going to go with the wire plus system since I think my ehc took a dump on me. Does anyone know how much the wire plus cost? Thanks Tim

Before you go buy a $600 WP, jump that ignition plug to confirm that's not the problem.
Watch out Moe, that's what I was saying before I got jumped by the "parts changers gang"! :loony:

"Be Careful & Watch Your Back! They'll Jump You Too"!
