Ahhh, quit worring and go ride your bike. Oh by the way, why aren't you going to the Redwood Run?So apparently some things have changed with BDM and batteries... Big Dog no longer ships batteries with bikes and there isn't a "Big Dog" labeled battery in them now like there apparently used to be. The factory gives the dealers a certificate for an Interstate CYTX20HL-BS (310cca AGM) which they then get locally.
The odd thing about this battery is that it IS an AGM but unlike every AGM I've known before it's NOT sealed when you pick it up from Interstate. It comes with the acid in a plastic pack and once you've put it in YOU then seal the battery but unlike the old style these cap strips aren't made to be taken back off. It still looks and is considered "sealed" and maintenance free (obviously) but it's not shippable because it doesn't come sealed from the factory. And yes, AGM stands for Absorbant Glass Material which is what's in the battery and soaks up the acid after it's poured in (the AGM isn't soaked and then inserted).
I'm not sure if it's the battery or the bike but I can tell you I'm constantly worried about being stranded because every start is an adventure. I think I'm going to order the Braille B2015 today...
I hadn't even heard of it, I musta missed it. Sounds like it would be some great scenery to ride through though unless we're talking Redwood City. :lol:Oh by the way, why aren't you going to the Redwood Run?

I just ordered the non-CF B2015 right after I posted that last post earlier and paid $162 shipped. I BRIEFLY considered buying the CF version for $75 more "just because" but it was a very brief thought! If I had found the CF one for $155 I would have jumped on it for sure but I didn't see any good deals on them on ebay. One guy even has B2015 in his auction title but then the details show he's actually selling a much smaller one (360cca).Marco,
I just got B2015CF off Ebay shipped for $155. Hope this helps!:2thumbs:![]()
I second that! That is what comes in Polaris ATV's..... and they are junk..... the batteries too!!!! Ha!yuasa = junk
:roll:Thats AWESOME!!!:2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:So I bought the Braille B2015 last month and it worked great, MUCH better starts then the stock Interstate. Anyway, last week I had some "issues" with the Wolf (the starter crapped out on me, etc) and somewhere in the process it ruined a cell or more in my brand new battery. The bad news is that my dealer was a huge ass about me having the nerve to mod my bike so much as upgrading the battery and he threatened to not cover anything under warranty and, of course, the Braille wouldn't be replaced and I had to produce the Interstate for him to send back. The good news however is that I called Braille (941-312-5047) and was told to simply answer their email with a few questions and they'd ship me one out within a day or two and I can send mine back afterwards. Pretty quick and easy. I bought mine from HRPWorld.com by the way and they were willing to replace it as well but were going to go through Braille anyway. Just nice to see someone actually standing behind a product after the way both my dealers have been.
Last week I got my Braille battery... cause my agm HD was dying... cant decide to go on Big Boar or Braille, cause all the threads here.So I bought the Braille B2015 last month and it worked great, MUCH better starts then the stock Interstate.
hey, so far so good !!! real good !!!You guys make sure to post up here if you have starter trouble after replacing your battery please. My dealer seems to be under the impression that even though the BDM starters are prone to problems that my using the Braille might have caused my starter to go bad somehow.
