No Spark!!!

Hey DRB. Not trying to keep things secret from you but things like this are usually easier to troubleshoot over the phone. If I get him fixed his payment to me is that he has to type of the cure :D

Keeping secrets from me was truly the last thing on my mind. I was thinking that others would benefit more by being able to observe the troubleshooting process.

I don't know if they're easier but would definitely be quicker than writing, waiting for an answer, writing, waiting for an answer, etc. :bang: But the up side of doing the "writing, waiting, repeat" is that you can potentially help more people at a time...

I'll (we'll?) be waiting! :)

Dennis is right. Get a Dyna S and single fire coils. Will start quicker, run smother and you don't have to run through the thunder heart ignition.

And he's already got a set of 3 ohm coils!! He's half way home to having a single fire Dyna ignition!!! :2thumbs:

I would love to do something like that, but im just trying to get the thing running first. I don't want to spend alot of cash on something I don't need right now. I have a sensor lined up for 65 bucks. heading there shortly to pick it up. Cross your fingers for a fellow botha haha

One side of the coil (Red) is +12v when the power is turned on and the other side of the coil (Yellow) should go to the ignition control for each cylinder like a set of ignition points. That's the way an old VW is wired with one coil.

I guess both cylinders would fire at the same time but off stroke using two coils and one common trigger (Yellow) wire.

You need power and a coil trigger to fire a plug. The yellow wire would go to ground for a split second and when ground is broken you get a plug spark.

Ok finally got to the bike today, and after talking to Night Trian and a few others it seems that the Ignition Cam Sensor is shot. Ill be stopping by the local HD dealer to pick up a new on tomorrow so ill keep you up to date!!!

Josh,
Let us know how the cam sensor works for you. BTW if forgot to give you the warning over the phone. I would call Thunder-Heart at (615) 672-8811 or email technical support techsupport@thunder-heart.com and tell them you have a thunder heart ignition from a 2004 big dog and you are wiring in two 3ohm coils. Let them tell you how this could affect the module. The way you are wiring them in basically makes a 6ohm coil. It should work but I would check the long term affects on the module with thunder-heart and what type of timing issues it may cause the way they are wired.

I am not saying it will not work, just that I don't know for sure so you may want to check.

I HAVE SPARK!!!! It seems that it was the Ignition sensor after all. I put it in and wired in all the aftermarket stuff and everything is now perfect. Other than doing some adjustments on the clutch and mirrors and stuff like that.. Shes finally back in comission... Thanks EVERYONE for all of your help and suggestions!!!! :2thumbs:

Ill be putting up some pics of the final product here in a few days.
