Paint warranty?

Just curious - look under your tank and at the mount - there should be two bolts and an empty hole - where is that "empty hole" to the front or rear of the bike? If its in front then all is good and possibly a new tank. If it is in the rear it's not mounted correctly - hence the gap (and you should feel a slight wobble) - Again, Just curious let us know....TKS

Sorry for the belated post but the hole is to the rear, however there is no wobble. The tank is solid. I remember looking up the backbone prior to engaging the front clamp and the tank was tight against the rear mount. The rubber on the front mount is against the front of the pocket in the tank on the clutch side. I'm going to have it sent back to BD next winter to repaint again anyway so I will keep this in mind when remounting. Thanks

HEY AIRBRUSH ED, I ONLY HAVE TILL MAY WHEN MY WARRANTY RUNS OUT. MY PAINT IS BUBBLING UP ALL AROUND MY GAS CAP BUNG. DO YOU THINK BDM WILL STILL REPAIR THIS FOR ME?

Hey BigBlueDog, What they will do and what they say they will do might be two entirely different things. Even if they do agree to do it, they will more than likely try to blow you off untill after the riding season is over, then they'll keep your tank for 4-6 weeks (from what I've been hearing). All I can tell you is, good luck. If you'd rather not go this route, send it to me and I'll fix it!

If Big Dog is aware of a pre-existing problem, they will still honor the warranty. Most riders file their claim but then wait and send their paint during the off riding season. That's a choice of the rider so they aren't without a bike during riding season.

My warranty runs out this month and they are going to repaint again after this summers riding season on the warranty.

washed bike today and noticed the bubbles around my tank saver as well,guess i will be calling my dealer as well to see what can be done. my warranty is up in about 2 months, hope they will work me to get this problem solved.
