This just hasn't been my month for luck with the dog. I got about 20 miles from home yesterday, looked down at my belt, and noticed it was shredded with two groves or ruts worn into it. The belt is only about 10 months old and had absolutely no wear on it prior to this ride. See the pic below. When I follow the belt up to the from pully, I can see about a 1/4 inch grove worn into the damn thing. That was replaced with the belt. When feeling the belt, I can tell that it was much looser than it should've been.
So, my question is what else should I look at when replacing the belt and from pully? Is there anything I should be aware of that could have caused this to happen besides the loose belt.
Also, seems strange that the belt ware is on the outside and the teeth on the belt where it comes into contact with the chipped pully are fine
Thanks all
