Could of messed up your carb adjustments. I had the same issue when I let the dealer service my bike. I reset the carb myself and no more issues except for my back tire gets slicker every time I ride. Don't have a clue what could be causing that    :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:
 The lil guy to the left was my reaction on the way home!Im not real sure what the actual settings should be any help would be great!Wishn my tire was gettin slicker thnx for the input

won't be your EHC - too many people jump to the EHC as being their problem.

Maybe the carb settings as the others said - do a search as there is loads of info on here about that. There is no magic setting - you need to set it up to be right for your bike, your weather etc etc. Chech your throttle cables too - maybe the carb aint opening up properly.

To start with ask your dealer exactly what they did.

Lee's right. EHC doesn't control your ignition anyway. Everyone wants to blame the EHC!

Adjust the carb yourself or learn how. You will be doing a lot of it as you change pipes, air cleaners and other things.
Down load the S&S .pdf file on carb adjustment. It's been posted on here a thousand and one times.

Good luck,
Ray

:job: The lil guy to the left is my spare time occupation since I'm still gazing at my BigDog sitting in its 8x12 Cell.......Guys I appreciate all of your input on my last thread BigWrist need more twist. My Mastiff seems to have fire and enough gas spurting/flowing as I squeeze the throttle but still no RUMBLE of that sweet sound.....I have checked the carb for trash, dirt etc..The ignition system seems to be firing but the low mileage machine still dosent even attempt to run...Outside of being disgusted by missing out on some prime wweather in NC..I just miss the rumbling sound only a true art form can create in the high end of RPM's..I'm guessing Im going to have to loader up and search for a compitent mechanic to return my pup from the FLATLINE ERa..Very baffled though the bikes in excellent shape with a mere 2500miles.Im positive it has to be a simple problem...But baldspot and bloodpressure are increasing..If any of you guys have any other suggestions other than the 1s already given feel free to let me know..To those who have already made suggestions and comments THANK YOU!!Just ready to ride and feel the thunder from down under.

2 pump chump

Well guys to my new found suprise I decided to go back outside and tinker with my dog to double check all the suggestions and feedback I had gotten on my intermitting problem.I have now found that I dont have any fire from the ing. coil.....I had pulled a plug and placed it in boot and TADAW no FIRE.Could the ignition module be bad or could it be more. Also can these be replaced with an affordable more durable and good grade products any info and links would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.:bang:

You say you have fire ..At the plugs? GOOD FAT SPARK? And you say you have fuel flowing and can see it squirt from the accel pump while twisting the grip ? It can only be a few other things ...the valves not opening and closing corectly" valve timing slipped"/ water in fuel?/Hole in pistons rings LOL ? sorry but if you have fire and fuel it should run ...check compression and ignition timing .. Just myzz2cents:

Ok, so I'm at work and I'm in an artistic mood so I made a drawing just for you. This is how you test for spark. It is IMPERATIVE that the threads of the spark plug be GROUNDED on some metal part of your bike. This means that with the ignition "ON", have a helper press "RUN" on the handlebars, and hold "START" while you hold the threads of the plug against the engine fins. If the plug is not grounded, it will not spark. Once again, if you leave the plug holes open, watch your face because lots of air will come blasting out while you do this, or use a spare plug and leave the originals in like Gas said. Watch closely, the spark can be hard to see if its bright, turning the lights down will help.

If you really have no spark, check to make sure you have 12v at the coil when run is pressed. If you do, it could be a bad coil. If you don't, the next thing I would try is open the timing cover and make sure you have 12v to the timing pickup, when the igniition is on and the run button is pressed. If you don't, you can check your EHC, towards the left side you will have a little light that comes on when you press the "run" button. If you do have 12v at the timing pickup, chances are it's fried. I've burned 2 since I had my bike. Once all those things are checked and verified, I'd start looking at the EHC.

Let me gracously correct Moe on one item he mis-stated on his Great Work of Art.
He says to look out for air that will come blasting up from the spark plug hole! LOL It won't be air...it'll be air/gas mixture!
The reason i know this is i had an air head one time come up on my bike. Well she was the presidents old lady. When she figured out I was checking fire she comes up and puts her head down by my plug and says ok fire it off...LMAO Well I wasn't thinking and I fired it off. Well she put out this blood curdling yell as she started to cuss. Her eyes were sprayed with gasoline and everybody was mad at me for a while...LOL So watch them empty spark plug holes and those guys that are learning to wrench!

Great pic Moe!

good drawing Moe - the only thing I would say is that the gap doesn't look quite right :D

Pull your cam cover/nose and see if your ignition is getting power from the EHC.

Hey Gas, the 2004 bikes do not have a stand alone, cam cover mounted ignition. My 2004 just had a block off plate behind the ignition cover, and it had a Thunderheart ignition under the seat.
