Okay I have a question that someone may be able to help with. On the original Recall where they put on pigtail for the effected model of 05, upon reading the Recall, it indicates that EHC with later S/N than those with recalls will be compatiable with the pigtail though it is not needed.
"Electronic harness control modules with a serial number of 1995 or above (P/N: 170-
000001-00) will not need the ignition harness resistor pigtail but is compatible with the
resistor pigtail assembl"
So if they put a pig tail on mine under the recall, and did not change to a later EHC (which I am pretty sure they did, my last one was P/N 171-000015-00, mfg date 0632, S/n 01132) or even if they did and did not remove pigtail, does it have to be removed verse can be removed? In short even if not needed, will it hurt anything? Also I have just changed my EHC to a brand new one (with the USB) and did it myself, but if for some reason that pig tail is still on there from a recall, will it hurt to leave it alone?
Also went through the list on the orignal recall, and my Mastiff is not listed, the project number before and after and most all the others, but not mine specifically. WTF was I one of the few 2005 Mastiff that had something different in between runs then all the others? Interesting for sure.
If it will create a problem, will take it off, but as many know it is a major PITA to get at it. If it not hurting anything regardless if not needed, will leave it on.
Curious also if BDM put out an official TSB or something to their dealers saying that it had to be removed if changing over, for the orginal Recall allowed .6 hours to do so and thus it would make sense to allow another .6 hours of labor to removed the bugger if needed when changing out to a new style EHC if required.
FYI my Red Light does flicker also or at least appears to on the new one. Runs fine BTW.
Thanks
