Good evening gentlemen -

I apologize, I was on the site before under tcg186, but been a while and created a new account a while back.

I have come across an issue I am hoping someone has come across before.

I bought my 2011 mastiff in 2018 and she was rough. Always had a hard time with finding neutral while sitting still, but thought it would work itself out. This year I decided to do something about it. Used the clutch adjustment guide I found on the site (a handful of times) and I am struggling to find the sweet spot. Cant get into neutral at a sit still and she doesn't want to let go when riding. I have taken the primary cover off and clutch plates look good. No oil contamination. removed the pulley cover assembly and inspected the ball ramp mechanism and it appears good too. When I pull in the clutch, it appears the basket doesn't move much, but hell, I don't know. I measured the movement and it appears to be 1/16".

I appreciate any help I can get. I figure since I have some of this stuff apart, I will upgrade the starter to the 2.0 from Donna, but they will be out till Thursday... Probably time for a new drive belt too. The belt looks alright, but it is original.

Anyhow, thank you for any help you can give! ~Tim

If ya still have it apart, measure ur clutch stack height. Should be real close to 1.97. This may be of help as well.

I agree with HMAN, sounds like the clutch disks are wore out. 1.97 is what they are suppose to be. Once they are down to 1.94, it is really hard to adjust. Keep them in order, wipe each plate clean, and measure the stack with some calipers. If you or anybody you know doesn't have any, you can get a cheap set at harbor freight. Most parts houses will have a set use can use.

Thank you Mr. Wright. Much appreciated sir. Will measure them when I get home. I did notice when I held them all together like a hamburger, there were some gaps, and after reading what HMAN sent, this is an issue as well.

Just fyi. The drive belt lasts longer than you would think. I have rarely heard of anyone replacing it. Good luck
