Curious what others have to say about Barnes Performance Cycles?
I’ve bought some parts from him before and it was always a smooth process. I do know others have had issues with him however. It’s a flip of the coin I suppose. Hope this helps.Curious what others have to say about Barnes Performance Cycles?

I’m sure that would be an interesting tale to hear about….considering I didn’t know what a BigDog motorcycle was until 2020, I had no clue he was even a member on the forum in the past.I believe he knows these Dogs well, just a lot of hurt feelings from when he was on here.
Your not the first and sure not the last. I have had several people i know share the same experience you did. I hate this happened to you.I simply ask because from my recent experience its been terrible. Purchased a wire harness in May of last year (2025) and have been getting getting the run around or lack of communication since. I always give folks the benefit of doubt and all I ask in return is updates. Never got that at all. Now, 9 months later after trying to call and sending emails all I got was more excuses. He never wouod answer his phone or call me back. Then his last response to me in email he told me o file a claim with my credit card company. I have never given him the reason to do that to me, as I never once demanded anything. All I ever asked for was to be given updates on progress. Very frustrating since i paid him $1k for a harness.
Basically want to save others the headache.
Damn it man. That sucks. I hope you don’t mind that I called him out about it on his Facebook page. I started out by asking the availability of the EHC he is offering. He said he is only installing them on in house installations…. I said that maybe he should have made that information available prior to customers ordering it to install at home as I would do also. Probably be booted from his Facebook site any day now….I simply ask because from my recent experience its been terrible. Yes, i too seen that post. Everyone here knows as of now or at the beginning of the year that he runs a one man shop. He does do good work and there are a lot of things he will only do in house (blow, exhaust, 422 progressive shocks on a 2006 model) this is the first of the wiring in house I'm hearing also. I also seen the OP's post on FB also and think I may have committed on it. (can't remember because I was at work when I seen it). But anyways we all know that Barnes has done many things to try and keep our Bigdogs on the road. Maybe he does have some stuff going on personal style or business wise. It is truly screwed up that he did OP this way. Overall yes the mistakes add up but we all have dealt with Andrew and we all know he has been doing the best he can, with what he has taken on. I wasn't part of the deal between OP and Barnes, I didn't hear the conversations. And I do think it is a messed up situation, all I can offer is help in getting your Bigdog up and running thru advice and my own personal knowledge.Somewhere I think I recently recall him saying he was considering hiring a person .
Pretty sure it was on a post he was showing an expansion to his building .
Sounds like an excuse Chong lol. Sounds more like he has more work than he can keep up with. Good help is getting so hard to find. Should have the staff onboard to support an expansion before doing one ( if that’s the problem). Anyway, proper planning prevents piss poor presentation. He has done us alot of good in the past. Hope he finds his groove again soon. Not an excuse for him but more of a observation..
I'm thinking he might have to many irons in the fire ..
Him taking on ECU's and harnesses may have put him over the edge hours wise.
Nailed .. LMAO !!Sounds like an excuse Chong lol. Sounds more like he has more work than he can keep up with. Good help is getting so hard to find. If you've paid for something you deserve the item or a refund. I think you'll be shit out of luck going to try and file a claim as it's been so long since the original charge. All I know is I have been cordial and patient throughout the whole process. At this point in time I just wanted to ask others their experience and inform about mine.
I have an 05 Chopper. It was running but I wanted to do some preventive stuff as the bike has been sitting for a few years. Figured I would change the harness. Beleive it or not I had Andrew rebuild my trans 15 years ago and had great service. Reason why I went back. Unfortunately the second go around didnt work out so well.
Great to see you back on here again Eric! Your input is always greatly appreciated. Thanks for sharing the link to ross cycles as well. I don’t think I have ever visited their website. Lots of good stuff there for these old dogs! Tell your pops hello if you should speak with him anytime soon!If you've paid for something you deserve the item or a refund. All I will offer is a suggestion to help get your bike on the road is to go with something that is in stock. Give Josh @ Ross Cycles a call or you could order from his website - https://ross-cycles.com
He will let you if they are in stock or not. Hell if he doesn't have one in stock right now, he'll take your # and call you when they come in.
Josh has taken reigns on the shop and Greg is now in "retired" mode. I would really like to see those on the forum push to support him - he's my age and if we're keeping these bikes alive we're all not getting any younger..lol
