Clear winner for EHC replacement?

Is there a clear winner for replacing the EHC on my 07 Mastiff? The two options I see now are the BDM RIP kit and the one sold by Wild Steel Worx (elektronikbox). I've browsed the forums and have seen several discussions (though most are several years old). I'd appreciate any comments on reliability issues, or praise that you have experienced with either replacement.

February 2020 I replaced mine with Wild Steed Works Electronik, at the same time installed new charging system, rotor, stator and voltage regulator. Everything is working good. I have 06 Pitbull.

Im running the WSW Electronik box on my 04 Pitbull. Zero complaints. Everything functions as it should and it also has built in user controlled options as well as a plugin for a bluetooth module. I couldnt be happier with it.

WSW hands down. Also change your charging system. It is probably the reason why your ehc went bad. Also recommend Deka battery.

Thx for the comments so far.... appreciate it. Sounds like WSW is the replacement of choice. Will look into the charging system once I get it running again and can see the voltage numbers.

I think the idea of changing the charging system, it's believed that an accumulation of surges were getting past the voltage regulator doing damage to electrical components. Curtis will talk to you about a 25 amp breaker that separates battery from the electrical system and a 40 amp breaker separating charging system from battery.

I can tell you I've gone to the CompuFire 40A on 2 of 3 of my K-9s (just got the third so haven't upgraded it yet but it is planned) and while I know this is overkill (esp for the carb bike) I am a fan of over kill. If I ever ride in the colder weather again that's all the more heated gear for this old man that doesn't like cold any more.
I think the 3 phase systems are one of the best electrical upgrades you can do.
There are actually there popular choices for EHC replacement

Rip2 - on my EFI K-9 right now - has run for years with no trouble/
Axels Systems (WSW) which I hear good things about.
DOCs system which is what is installed in my newest K-9 that I just bought.

There is also the motogadget that should work on a BDM

Axle or the RIP, Docs (same controller) are both great options.

Axle’s is a direct swap, maintains the Sub B connector which is much easier, but the connector is not sealed.

RIP, DOCs has new connectors and wiring which is more robust, but much more involved to install.

When I did my RIP2 I only had to swap one of the parts of the wire harness and that was not too difficult.
Hardest part is trying to reroute all the wiring so its neat.

Yea, that's the main reason I don't like the RIP. Seems to be a good unit, it's just hard to get it all in there nice.

electronicbox is my favorite because it is plug and play.
Trust- and reliable with top components built in.
A nice gimmick are the 8 programmable functions like brakelight flashing.

Put wsw on my 05 with a voltage regulator and one on my 04 with a voltage regulator. And was amazed at what they could do. I also put a new wiring harness at the same time. Once I pulled the tank it took me 2.5 hours to do, and the .5 of that was trying to hook up horn.
