If the new one is billet, instead of cast, why would you have to back off on the torque specification? makes no senseDon't buy the cast ones anymore.
Buy the updated billet version so this doesn't happen to you again.
Inspection Cover
80-90inlbs and no more
So you don't strip out the threads ya wanka! If the new one is billet, instead of cast, why would you have to back off on the torque specification? makes no sense
The problem is not stripping the threads, its because the corner breaks off the cast inspection plate. The billet inspection plate will not break the corner off, so there's no reason to back off the torque spec. Stay with us here Cdoggy, has nothing to do with the threadsSo you don't strip out the threads ya wanka!
Hey ya "smart-ass" you stay with us! The torque spec isn't for not breaking the corners off it's so you don't strip the threads out since with the new inspection cover the corners won't break off, the threads will strip out before the corners would ever break off, right? So stay with us here ya wanker! Hahaha! The problem is not stripping the threads, its because the corner breaks off the cast inspection plate. Oh please by all means go ahead and crank down on it.Hmm...View attachment 48555...good point, makes you wonder..
I don't quite understand where you get the idea that it would be considered "over tightened"Oh please by all means go ahead and crank down on it.
Might as well over tighten everything else too while your at it.
I found more than a few things in the manuals that are inaccurate.
The torque for the inspection cover plate being one of them.
