Alrighty, I got the rocker box gaskets replaced following the fantastic how to's. Now here's my stupid question.... how do you reinstall the push rod clips? I'm stumped. I don't have a install tool. That would be too easy... I'm doing things the cheap way. I will be ordering a install tool though. Meanwhile, I'd like to get things back together. Any suggestions......?:bang:

Just make sure the base is in the well with a good seal and then put the clip in at the top of the bottom piece and push it in at the top. You can use a screw drive if you want. Easy to do. :D

Not a stupid question if you have never done it before ....
Well this true, however as a CNC machinist I figured I was just a little brighter than that, but...........:job: Hell, I've rebuilt engines, tranny's and whatever, but the BD is kinda new to me. Never had to wrench on the other bikes. Just took em in had em fixed and rode em hard.

Even when you know what to do, they can still be a pain in the ass. Stop, have a cold beer, then go at it again. Generally, like what you mentioned (not having the top and bottem seated completely in) is always the issue.
