not really a matter of being an issue, it's gonna happen. it's pretty much a product of ethanol.

Same as above for my 05. I was told by BD CS that they changed to another type of liner in mid 07. However I try to keep 5 gal of non ethanol HiTest gas in my shed at all times.

Most Marinas carry it because of the ethanol sucking up water.

i have an app on my phone that lists all the non ethanol gas stations wherever i go. So i put in ethanol gas if there isn't a station around that has it. But i make sure to ride the shit out of it so i can fill up with the good stuff

Has anyone with an 08 or later had this issue?

Any idea as to why the tank started blistering? One of the bikes I'm thinking of buying as very slight raised dimples on the tank... I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. If I buy it, I plan to have it re-painted anyway, but I'd love to know what clauses it. I'm wondering if it would happen again after being re-painted.

I don't know why it started lifting but it won't getter any better. If you buy it and repaint, I would take it down to bare metal and start over. Maybe one of the painters on here will chime in. Good luck
