I had a similar problem... but everytime I cleaned the carb I got more dirt in it. Found out it was coming from the tank. hence the thread below...

Yeah Chris, I cleaned the tank out a month ago when I had it all apart and had it resealed that will be the next thing, a good fuel filter.

Oscar, I ran the Pingel and it works great. The Pingel has a washable brass filter or you can just replace it. Cut the fuel line and 2 clamps, really easy.
