If I get one of these carbs, after I tune it, will it be pretty much bullet proof like the stock G that I have now? I don't want to make a mistake and then have a bike that has to be fiddled with more often. My mods are 650 woods cam, ported, bigger valves, dyna ingnition, mean mother pipes. Will I see a real performance upgrade with the XXX? Anyone have a Mikuni 48 flat slide on thier bike for a comparison? This is 1 mod that I am one the fence about.

I talked with PSI carbs yesterday to order one for a customer and am in the middle of obtaining a carb from them as a loaner-xxx comparision carb...He was on the way to Daytona and told me he'd get back with me when he returned. I had the idea of letting a few forum members try one of the PSI carbs that already have an XXX and actually see what the comparision is..According to PSI, on a scale of 1 to 10 the xxx is a 3 and theres is a 10...and he's willing to let me try it to prove it...I'll know more in a week or so..so if you can hang tight lets see what the comparison is...The PSI comes with a 60 day money back guarantee so it sounds like a win-win deal to me...I'll let you know more when I have all the details worked out.

I just looked at PSI's web site and they want $1100 for their carb, $1200 for chrome. That is a HUGE price difference over what Triple X is charging.

Thumper's got a point....that's a bit steep although the two fellas I know that have the PSI, love them, still doesn't change the price tag!

Brad, for your mods the Triple X as they are now called is right up your alley.
It's bored out larger and has the booster. All the mods don't change the carbs reliability or anything like that. And it chrome it's extra bling if your aircleaner allows it to show off.

Cost wise there is no comparison.

As for the PSI, like LDO says we have a couple buddies that have it and after some mods they got it going and like it. Single throttle cable cause them some grief but now they offer a dual

I met the owner at the "100 yrs of Motorcycling" rally Knotso and I went to. He told me if I wanted to get rid of my POS and get a real carb then buy his. His attitude ended it for me. S&S carbs have been around since the 50's and they are no POS unlike what some of the other forums are saying about his carb. Apparently they have been popular with the snow ski guys and you might want to check out some of there forums for more info.

That would have ended it for me too.
