I think I'm going to look into a set of these as well for my k9. Have always liked the look and never thought about the enhanced night visibility factor. Do you buy it in a complete kit or by the light strip depending on what you want to illuminate??
BTW..... Love the look on king Lears ride!! Awesome job!!
You can buy a set. I always buy extra strips and pods just incase one goes bad. That way I can replace it, take the bad one and send it back to xk glow and they send me a replacement. These come with a 5 year warranty.

So a few questions...... the XK Glow light that king learns used, are you able to change the coloror do you have to buy them in the color of your choice?? Are they dimmable for a soft glow or is it only the bright neon look???
As for colors they offer a solid color base kit that the one color is controlled with a key fob and has a solid, diferent flash and fade patterns, and thats about it. If you get the bluetooth model they are controlled by your smart phone. And it is a multi colored kit. You can run 2 different zones per controller or just run one zone and then all your lights do the same thing at once, you can either have both zones the same color or different colors, you can control the brightness per zone, you can have both zones strobe, fade, or stay solid or have them do different things from one another. There is a pre made set of holidy colors with different flash patterns or you can make your own patterns and with youre own colors, there is a feature that will play a pattern based on the music you are listening to or it will use the muc on your phone to hear music and do a pattern based on music playing around you, also a feature that brightens the lights based off speed or g-force, the best feature is the find my bike. Its a mini gps that as long as you are connected to the controller will give you gps directions to youre bike. They are an awesome kit for sure either way.

I always liked the look, and have a friend that runs them on her Thunder Mountain chopper. Look Great!!! But, my thinking tells me the more wires (even if correctly installed) the more I can be sitting on the side of the road, chasing a short. Just my two pennies.

These lights are plug and play. The controller is fused and if a wire breaks between the controller and a light the only thing that will happen is the lights between the break and the end of the series of lights hooked up between the break will stop working. If the fuse blows then theres something wrong with the controller then your bike and its electrical system is protected. I've had lights stop working from hitting a speed bump and ripping them clean off the bike and bike ran fine afterwords, had wires get cutafrom things onthe road or a rock smashing the wires. Bike kept running fine

Thanks for all the great info, I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the bluetooth at of lights. Last question, anyone have any problems with the 3M tape letting loose. I'm in construction and use the led strip lights inside cabinets with glass doors, sometime you come back from the weekend and half the light is hanging down.

As long as the area is clean, dry and you hold it firmly for a few minutes until it bonds I've had very little issues. Plus xk glow sends some of their foam tape also, you cut it to length or thinkness and it holds very well. The only issue I've had is in the inside of my front fender hiding a wire coming loose after riding in the rain several miles.
