Xena Motorcycycle Alarm

I have been looking at different kinds of alarms for the BD. I don't want to lug around a chain and a lock. And surely I don't want to hook up anything to the electrical system on a BD. So I am looking at this Xena alarm. I was wondering if anyone used this before or has a better alarm system to recommend and is easy to deal with. This thing cost around $80.00 give or take on Ebay. Does BD sell anything? Does Harley? Thanks!

There are several threads which discuss the Xena disk lock, Here is one of them http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/general/19030-disc-lock.html

Bottom line is that any disk lock will slow down the low level thieves but the pros will have enough tools, lifting equipment and manpower to steal your bike no matter how much you do. But anything you do to slow down thieves will have them looking for easier targets.

Another round please
If they want your bike, they will get it. Nothing you can do. Most are just picked up, thrown in back of a truck, and its gone.

I have to agree...if someone wants your bike bad enough...they will get it. But with that said...the most important thing an alarm or disk lock does is make it more difficult. I use both an alarm and disk lock. I have one of the large red banners "Remove before Flight" attached to the disk lock that I put on the front wheel. Hopefully when seen...they will recognized it is locked, and move on to an easier target. I have a standard lock and a Xena. I found that the Xena would always go off on its own, so I use a standard brite colored lock on the front disk...backed up with a Scorpion alarm on the bike.

I have noticed that the Xena gives more false alarms and makes lots of chirping noise when the batteries need replacing. Bright yellow disk lock on both the Dog and the Hog.
