Well all is well and I made it home, but my prerecall wheel doesn't look so healthy. Anyone have one they are willing to sell? IMG_20160612_140024.jpg

Back rims were recalled years ago. Im sure this does you no good now. But if Bog Dog is coming back like its being said, perhaps they will cover it. Until then, have it welded.

Sorry to say, but I think your out of luck if you think it's covered under a recall now. Yes Big dog is back but under new management and I'm sure the only warranties being offered is on the new scoots being sold now. The new management just took over the rights to the Big Dog name, I'm pretty sure that didn't come with old recalls. Sorry!

You may be better off buying new / different rims...

first of all.....you would have to be nuts to have a bike rim welded and continue to ride on it...or at least have a serious death wish. I have a post recall pitchfork rear wheel that I could part with if you haven't found one yet...pm me if you're interested

Whats the difference between a welded rim or a welded frame? Our rims bolt together. Bolts come loose. You do know that some steel rims on cars are welded together. Right?

I'm not a welder but I would ride only on factory welded (stringently checked for quality) not on a wheel already proven to be defective and hoping that the REPAIR WELD will hold up when I hit that bump at 70 mph on an interstate while riding a rigid... call me overly cautious but being a car hauler I've seen to many repair welds break. JMO

Exactly! you could weld the break, but if it broke once it'll break again somewhere else! Defective is just what it means, DEFECTIVE !

Thanx friends. Was able to come across one on ebay, not sure if its post recall. Guess ill find out the hard way.haha. anyhoo, mu damn axle adjuster set screw came out a little and i stripped the head. Any advice?

Thanx brother, i got the one off ebay, if that doesnt pan out ill hit you up. Do you happen to have any set screws for the axle adjuster?

Set screws for the axle adjuster? Are you talking about the headless bolts that push yr axle back to tighten the belt? You can get those at Ace Hardware.

Set/adjustment screws can be purchased at ACE hardware store, that's where I bought mine. Just bring one of yours in to match it up...
