ok guys here goes, been looking for a k9 for some time, had one about 2 months ago but deal fell through. after all this with BDM closing would you still buy one? warranty doesnt bother me and wrenching is no problem (havent worked on a bike much but work on cars for a living). I know after ironhorse closed owners were kinda screwed and am just afraid something like that would happen. I have been looking for a k9 for a LONG time and really dont want to let go of this dream! When i test drove it for the 1st time it was all over! Stupid bank wanted 17.79% interest and the wife flipped so had to let it go :bang::bang::bang: thinking now i shoulda got rid of the wife instead!:whoop: anyway what do u guys think? do u think the price of a k9 would drop or raise because all the closing stuff?

Machete wrote a great post on BDM closing, maybe you should refer to that, it may answer your question.

My personal opinon is the prices on BDM bikes are already low due to the economic crisis, what happens when the economy recovers ?

Yes, I would have gotten rid of the wife. :D

I would keep looking. There should be some deals coming with some owners who are unhappy about BDM's demise. You are a wrench and most parts can be found with a little effort searching the internet. It was 70 degrees here today and took mine off the blocks and went for a cruise. Felt great to be back on the MUTT. Only problem is they are talking snow this friday.

Stick with the LSD models. Get a 2004 or earlier chopper, or go scoop up one of the 5 million one off customs on the market right now that is built with off the shelf parts. Save yourself the headache. If you gotta have a K9, go buy a K9 tank and put a 12 over front end with raked trees on an '04 chopper and nobody would know the difference.

If you find a scoot you like, at a price you can live with, and you like the way it rides, get it and lets ride:2thumbs:

If you plan for every eventuality, you'll never buy. If you love the bike, buy it!

Cut your best deal w the seller, and enjoy.

BTW, if you're planning on financing, banks may be more skittish on lending on BDM's, or they may be recalculating their loan values on these.

Everything happens for a reason, i almost bought 2 different street glides, an 08 and a 010 . I backed out of both due to hd interest rates.
I pulled into new river valley hd in virginia october of 2009 and a guy traded his big dog in the same day i was there. I fell in love with it and bought it.

.... so glad i held out.

Ps tha guy traded that beautiful bike in on a ugly ass crossbones

I think I'm going to be quite surprised if on the showroom floor new bikes go up in price when there isn't going to be any warranty. Having said that, if I were in the market to replace my Mastiff, would I buy another Big Dog. That would be a YES! I just like the fact that not everybody owns one. I've always tended to swim upstream instead of with the flow.:2thumbs:

Agrees with Knotso 100%,, you will love the ride, and I personally would not sell my scooter or trade it for anything else.
