Would you buy a K9 site unseen?

I went with a cheapest hauler option and paid for it. The guy hauled my bike on a shit trailer - not enclosed. Cried when my bike arrived it was a mess. Rent a trailer and go get it yourself. I have not looked at all the threads so perhaps this has been covered - I would negotiate the shipping into the deal. If the bike is still a little too expensive - go for another option that is more within you budget.

Sounds like a good deal on a very nice bike. Just don't let it sit like the previous owners did and like I said earlier, check date on tires. See you in Daytona for Bikeweek...

I drove 12 1/2 hours to Tulsa, OK from Oak Ridge, TN to pick my bike up. It was a nice road trip with new scenery and all it costs was fuel.

Cheap one way flight and ride her back!!! Maybe a little chilly but the thrill will keep ya warm all the way home.

I bought my K9 last April sight unseen. It was from a dealer however, but the bike was used. Just too good of a deal to pass up.

One thing in particular about these bikes...most guys only ride them when its sunny out, most are pretty anal about keeping them in show quality condition, and one thing I noticed about Big Dogs when I was searching for mine is that they have "low miles". The one thing that caused me to buy mine sight unseen was the price. I knew it was too good of a deal to pass up.

Have you ever ridden a K9? May want to try one before purchasing if you haven't. Not everyone can handle a fat tire, long rake, and 117" of american muscle.

I'm here to help answer any questions you may have however.

Happy Bidding!
I have never ridden a K9 before. How bad is the vibration? Worst then a 1979 Sportster? Different then the 1990 soild mount springer softail I put 51,000 miles on?

Hey Bud Im obviously brand new to this site and not sure if this helps you or not but I just bought a black 08 K9 from that dealer last week site unseen (first time ive ever done that) I really looked at the pics close and emailed back and forth and pulled the trigger. It will be getting delivered middle to end of this week so I can tell you exactly how accurate they are in their description once it arrives. Keep your fingers crossed for me lol

Also they were asking 16,390 for the 08 bone stock with 6900 miles on it and I got them down to 15,800 so I know they are willing to deal on their bikes.

Man I screwed up big time.

Waited until I seen an eye surgeon in Pittsburgh on Tuesday to make my decision on buying the K9. Had to find out if he was willing to operate on my eye again. The problem with my eye has prevented me from riding for almost 5 years. Found out Tuesday afternoon that he can help me out. Went back to my sisters house after the appointment ( I live 180 miles away) determined to buy that Dog and it had been remover from e-bay. Tried to call the seller but no answer.

Guess I f**ked that one up. There was no use buying it before I found out if I couldn't ride it or not. Guess I will have to wait until the next one.

Thanks to everyone that did or was willing to help me out.

Hey bud I meant to get ahold of you sooner but have been dealing with work and trying to get my K9 all straightened out. Anyway I got it from the same dealer you were looking at and bought it site unseen. I used whoever they lined up for delivery I can look at the name on the invoice and give you a number if you want. They were ok on their description and the paint and chrome all look pretty good except for a couple light scratches that Im sure I can buff out and I take that as normal wear and tear for a 5 year old bike. My main problems with them are they said there was plenty of meat on the tires and the front is almost to the wear indicator and the rear is worn into the wear indicator and needs to be replaced very soon. Also I noticed the rear lights on the bike are orange instead of red and I still havent figured that one out??? Also it came with a battery that could turn the headlight on but it didnt have enough juice to start it so Im in the process of charging it now. I emailed them last night and said the bike looked good from what I could see cause it was dark but I told them I was kinda pissed about the battery being dead. I now have a 16k bike that has been delivered and I still havent been able to start  Of course no repsonse back on that yet. I would def recommend you have someone look at it thats close before you buy from them. I prob still would have bought my bike I just would have liked them to have been up front about a couple things and it def would have been nice to have a charged battery. Also the delivery guy said they seemed very amatuer when it came to everything like they are new at it but if I remember right the dealership has been around since 2008. Hopefully this all helps you in your search. Good luck man I can tell you right now without even starting the bike everytime I look at it it puts a smile on my face :2thumbs:

Thanks for the info. mrcarbine. I really want the red one they have but they have a deposit on it. If that sale don't work that dog is mine. I always figured I would be buying a new battery when buying a used K9.

The shipping quote they gave me was from Nationwide Auto Shipping. I have seen Big Dogs tied down the wrong way before that is why I was wondering about the shipper and how yours looked.

So did you ever get the bike? Have driven to St L from Pittsburgh and its only 8-9 hours with a few stops. Well worth it to get your bike.
