Wolf: Bar Bike or Touring?

I can stretch out on the glide. The stock seat on the Wolf won't allow you to move back much. I think the Wolf is better suited for people under 6'. As for the X Wedge I've had nothing but problems with it. 2 timing belts, 1 cam gear, 3 studs that the exhaust valve rocker mounts to have snapped. S&S has designed a new pushrod geometry for this and I haven't had a problem since. I have a big bore kit on this bike with CNC ported heads.Perhaps these mods created the problem, but it's all S&S products and they stepped up to the plate and rebuilt the upper end. Their fix for the timing belt is to shim the cam chest cover from the case to release some trapped heat(I live in the Phoenix area). Bottom line is I don't trust the bike for long hauls, but damn I still love this bike.
I heard the fix was to shim the cam chest is it like 1/8" shim? Going to have to take it off and clean it regularly I suspect since road grim will be stuck in there. Sounds like a bandaid fix by S&S to me.

I think it is closer to .050 shim

Great feedback, guys..BadDawg Bill's remarks have me ready to look at the RS, but I have too many HD and BDM parts, T shirts, jackets and such. Can't afford to start that all over again hahaha......
Eric, the belt gets too hot and tears itself up..I think a yearly cleaning would keep it going just fine, as the belt is dry and appears to be like our final drive belts, only smaller. The problem became apparent when belts in warm climates failed a lot more often than bikes in cooler climates.Everything I found online indicates the shim is a good fix....
I'm unfamiliar with the stud breaking issue Mr. Smuth cites in post #21. I have not heard of other 124's with this issue and sure hope that it's related to the modifications and not systemic.

A pic of the studs that have snapped. Twice in the rear cylinder and once in the front.
Designed new pushrod geometry. That ist the length or angle? Do you know if that was a fix for you or something they are advising all Xwedge owners?

I did hear the xwedge is smooth as silk though.

The rocker assembly is totally different now. The head had to be relief cut for pushrod clearance. I would assume that changed the angle. There were complete instructions and pics leading me to believe S & S knew they had a problem. I wish I had snapped a pic or saved the instructions.

I searched for a few minutes yesterday online I couldn't find anything.

Ray and I rode the first Bagger and Wolf and we liked both. Only spent an hour or so, but I would ride a Wolf long distance and not be concerned. It is longer than my Mastiff but it handles very well, great throttle response and is comfortable. If you buy one, pay my airfare and I will ride it across country for you.
