So, I have a set of LED lights on my bike right now that I am replacing with a better set with a half light strip. The purpose for the lights really is visibility more then style even though I think they look pretty gnarly! Question being is which wire to my tail lights is my Signal and which is my brake? Tested them both and they both gave power when operating both functions, brake or signal.. makes no sense to me.

Not sure about your case, but Sue's Tejas is black-ground, purple-running light, and blue-signal/brake. Are both getting power when the bike is running? Tejas has both hot until the bike is running, once running just the running lights are on.

turn on key, hit turn signal, the steady power is the running light, the flasher on-off- is the brake /flasher.
black meter probe to gnd, red to wire .
meter set on DC voltage

Lol.. y'all crack me up.. damnit Kevin I did but I'm trying to do it quick n easy without back probing my fuse pannel, which requires me to pull off my side panel on the right side of the bike.. and as far as back probing I said I got power to both wires.. lol.. guess I'll pull the fluke out damnit.. I have voltage but now I'll check how much because using a test light obviously ain't working..

Release the red wire pin from the connector and see what ya got or don't got. Goes from der

They are the same wire. One is (Brake/Turn) one is parking and the other ground.
If no turn single is on then Brake, If brake and turn single then that side blinks.

So this is going under the rear of my fender to help illuminate my ass..

They are the same wire. One is (Brake/Turn) one is parking and the other ground.
If no turn single is on then Brake, If brake and turn single then that side blinks.

So tie my brake and turn together... makes no sense electrically.. that' where I'm trying to get some help.. how this one works is
White - brake
Red- run
Yellow -turn
Green - turn
Black - ground

Okay, so when I rewired this, I followed the way it was wired from the factory as far as my power points, just routed them through a fuse panel. Using the back probe pin and even the pins on my meter, it pulsates power.. what am I missing.. kind of feel like a jack ass cuz elecectrical is my thing

Flashes between these two voltages for signal lights and when I hit brake, it goes from 3.9 to the 12.2

I haven’t had to re wire the big dog but on the big bear one of the wires are running/ turn and the other is brake.

I am just Gunna have to trace it back to my fuse pannel to find out what does what because both have power for both functions..

A really longshot from me who doesn’t much understand: I remember sometimes (specially in French Cars) if you have a bad ground a blinker earths thru a brake light and makes it blink too. Prolly not the reason, but a just a thought

If you wanna catch attention from behind, When you come to a stop, blip the brake handle erratically like Morse code.

Hehehe, looking at your pic of the wires of blinker made me remember my -03 has 3 wires too. The law in Europe said US system where the blinker is actually blinking brake light is illegal hence the odd looking two light combos are you see in EU Dogs... I was looking for an easy solution where I wouldn't need to fuck the whole harness. My electrical guru friend was looking into it and was cursing the small wires, at that point they changed the law and Dot is now legal he just might still remember what his plan was ...

All models use a type B system, which means that the brake function is integrated with the taillights and turn signal. If no turn signal is in operation, then both brake lights will come on with the input from either brake switch. If the brakes are applied with a turn signal in operation the brake light will NOT illuminate on the side that is flashing as a turn signal.

maybe if you would disconnect the led out of the tail light you wouldn't have the "back circuit from the led ".
then check the wires going to it .
life was simple when we used filament bulbs
