Wiring question

I have some compression releases on the way and I think I read somewhere that my 03 chopper is wired for them.
Can someone confirm this for me? and are they located under the tank?
I don't have a wiring diagram for a 03.
Thanks...

Yes your bike is ready for them. The two plugs marked are under your tank. Remember you need an 02 starter relay to use them. Many threads here on it. I think LDO did a How To on putting them in his 03 also. Been a lot of years ago since I had my 03 but I think I posted a copy of the service bulletin that tells you to use the 02 starter relay. You'll have to search it.

I found the thread by searching for " 02 starter relay"
I looked at the bulletin from BDM and all that 02 relay is doing is load reduction by taking the trigger from the headlight relay.
I'll try to find that relay, if not i have several that will work as well.
Thanks for your help:2thumbs:

It looks like using the original connection @ the starter is the best idea.
No additional relay stuck under your seat and a very simple install.
You could even power it off the the large starter lug and not exhibit any additional load to the original system.
I found this in the S&S instructions;

Very True! But the surge might be a little hard on the comp. release solenoids, but it'll work. :2thumbs:

Man I have to quit riding all the time and do this project for my 03 pit......I have a few projects staged and ready to go, it's just when I go out to the garage and see my scoot sitting there and this great Kalifornia weather, my reaction lately has been "Ride" "Ride" Ride"

For anyone wanting to do this mod, I highly recommend installing connectors to your C/Rs so that you can take them out easily if the need arises. Sort of like a quick disconnect feature.

See my thread on this install and let me know if you have any questions.

The 02 start module cuts off your headlight during the start sequence. I like the way it works.:2thumbs:

Your speaking about the voltage spike coming from the solenoid when the starter is released. If I hook it to that terminal I will use a 1000 PIV 2.5A Diode in series to block that spike.
It must be OK because S$S say to do it like that.
I'm with you on the spike, it is a thought...
