have an K-9 with an vintage h-d engine. installing a thunderheart ecm and wiring. does anyone know how to hook the thunder heart wiring to the bdm controls

But your asking way to broad of a question.

What year K-9? What kind of HD engine (does it have CR and crank or cam sensor?).

So what wiring harness are you using now?

it is a proto-type bdm frame (06). the engine is a 1948 Knuckle head. it has a magneto and a generator. it has 06 bdm controls. Im trying to put a thunder heart controller on it. it has no harness at all, so im making it.

Been a long time for me but why do you need a Thunderheart Ignition with a magneto. Are you running an electronic pickup inside the magneto?
And is it already converted to 12 volt?

I'm using the thunderheart to run the existing controls on the turn signals, brake lights and head light system. The magneto is another situation that is not a problem at this time

To my knowledge the Thunderheart controller is for Harley Controls only (Positive voltage/higher amprage). The 2004 and up BDM hand controls run of a negative control unlike HD and are made to only handle very low negative current.. The controls are all curcuit board, low voltage output and you may need to buy the Wire-Plus module to make the hand controls happen. The problem you are going to run into is needing to have a bank of relays to handle the current of the headlight, the horn, the start button, and then changing the brake switch from negative to positive to match your rear brake switch. In order to change the brake switch from negative, the curcuit board will need to be removed and a trace cut and a jumper wire soldered in to on of the wires from the run button.

That Thunder-Heart controller really is going to cause you a lot of head aches and a big mess of wiring up relays to do it. Trust Me !!!
