Wiring Harness

If you do decide to go with DOC's ESC, it comes with a new wire harness, and very simple to follow instructions. Took me about 8 hours to install, and I am an electrical moron. Also really took my time adding heat shrink to connections, and routing all wiring for cleanest install. If you do get into install and get overwhelmed, just give Jeff from DOC's a call and he will walk you through it..also have the support of many on the forum.:old2:

What exactly do you want done? Rewire of the WP system? Or a whole new system such as DOC's ESC or hard wire?

Let me clearify what I meant by my earlier comment of "Rewiring will be quiet expensive, not sure if it will be worth it", I mean it will be expensive to pay someone to have it done versus installing/rewiring it yourself. Any of the systems that you decide on are pretty easy to install. DOC ESC as well as the instruction manual are pretty easy going for the install with great customer support.

I go ya one better, it took me two days (more novice than you I suppose with DOCs ESC) but installed, tested, broke it down, digrease and shrink wrapped each connector. Now I smothing along with no problems at all. But money I saved. The Experts quoted me 2500 smackers to do it. Saved 1800 buck and really know my bike well now. Good luck..:cheers:

I am looking for a mechanic to rewire my 07 K9 if anyone knows of anybody in East Tennessee please let me know. I have trouble with this bike almost from day one , Battery will not stay charges, speedometer only working some of time . So I have a new wiring harness to rewire the bike and cannot find anyone to do it. Thank you!!
I don't know if ur aware of this, but u have to change ur controls, they will not work off a harness, they r ran off ur ehc. I have rewired my bike to rid of the typical bdm problems as well but new controls were needed. So just keep that in mind. Yes it was well worth it because I will never have to worry about that horrid ehc or any other manufacturer who claims to have a better model one. It's a great way to go, but not as simple you may think. Just some fyi brother.

I'll second (third?) doing it yourself with DOC's plug and play product. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow. Armed with those instructions, reviewing the many related posts on here, asking questions on here and DOC's customer support, it is totally doable by someone with only minor electrical system knowledge. Although a little patience is required, taking your time will get you through it. And there is no better feeling of confidence in knowing the complete (and rather simple) electrical system on your bike inside and out.
