Bought this 2006 Big Dog Mastiff a month ago. 9K MILES. Who ever owned it has upgrades on it. Took care of it. Anyways I am going through the bike and rather then wait for issues I like to eliminate them. First thing is the EHC. The wiring has been modified I just don't know for what. There are
Wago connectors and a inline 10 amp fuse. I was going to buy the stand alone EHC upgraded module but now I have zero idea if the wiring that was done will be compatible. There is also a switch by my ignition that has a module behind it. It is not for led lights and not a kill switch. I have flipped it on and off running and not running. Nothing happens. Also it has a chin spoiler with a oild cooler behind it. Did this come stock as it looks very much stock. Thank youbig2.jpg bike2.jpgbike1.jpg

Those wire I'm seeing are for led light...trace them down to make sure but im 99% sure that what that is...me personally I would get rid of that if it was mine but that's just me...some people like led's.

So for the ehc stuff we need pics to see what ehc you already have on it...who knows it may already be upgraded with a axel ehc

Welcome from NJ,

Not sure what you have going on there but not stock and I would agree with Knot and remove any decorative lighting.
TIPS: A good policy is to add a fuse between the battery and the EHC regardless of which EHC you may have. The stock bike came with a CB between the VR and the battery in order to protect the battery from a short or overcurrent from the VR. No such protection for the EHC is on the stock bike which is why you should add it. If your battery shorts out it will take out the EHC with it.
Big Dogs need a lot of punch. Have your battery load tested and if it's in need a Recommended Battery is the DEKA EXT20L. Any questions you may have come back and someone on this site will help you get the answer.
Good Luck

Your are right about them being led. I finally found them. They had red led up un the frame lighting up the motor.

Well i replace the battery with a NOCO Group Size 1 Lithium Ion Battery NLP20 . The bad news is my EHC got excited and now have certain accessories out. Bike runs but ehc is history. The battery is insanely powerful . its instant start up. Anyways I was planning on replacing the EHC anyways so ordered the BIG Dog Rip kit. Not sure I have much more to replace after this. Airhawk seat , grips ,tach , battery , got new tires, Front Cruisetec 120/70B21 Tire, ear Cruisetec 240/40VR18 Tires. Hopefully nothing else. Thank you for the help. Dan

I would shit can the lithium battery cause they do cause issues with these bikes...you can get a deka battery etx20l off amazon...but you need to know if the charging system took out he ehc...there is a few possibilities that cause the ehc to go out
Yea I just bought the battery unfortunately . I ran a voltmeter as the bike still runs but certain accessories aren't . Was charging to battery at 13.5 volts. Watched the install video for the half harness RIP kit and I don't think the box or circuit breaker with the black button comes with it. Gonna have to find another one as might as well replace it.

Appears to be a circuit breaker inline to battery with a reset button.
CB is more than likely the stock CB between the VR and battery. If so, install an additional CB or Fuse between the battery and the EHC. Otherwise the EHC is not protected from the battery shorting out.
Also I would call Big Dog to get their opinion on the NOCO lithium battery being installed along with the RIP kit.

I had countless problems with the noco battery I bought somewhere in the reign of 620cca it span it over so quick, however I ended up having my starter motor rebuilt and the ehc did not like it at all, I went back to a dextra battery and replaced the module with a motogadget I can now add extras to it because there are auxiliaries also I can open the app and it gives me battery health routes I’ve taken and other cool bits
