wires plus and more weekend at Jakes!!

well in between working this weekend I spent some time at Jakes house Helping( watching ) Jake do the wires plus install. We also put on a new K &N filter from Don at value tech along with the double oil cooler set up and a new HID light from Jake. I must admit I was hasitant to try these on my own but trust me watching Jake do the wires plus install and giving me advise on all the other stuff and telling me tricks to make it easy any one can do it. But if you get scared or are unsure get ahold of Jake. The HID was crazy easy and fast after he told me a few tricks, total job done and back together in 20 minutes. As for the wire plus Jake is a profectionest !! thanks God!! what an amazing job and really only about 5 hours and that was with a lot of B.S.ing going on. I just want to let every one know if you are not sure about doing the wires plus trust me you can do!! And as for the HID the trick is to keep the package together and push the wire loop to the point of the bucket split the conectors 2 to one side and one to the other and it slides right in!! well I am going to leave it at this and let Jake post some pics he took, but trust me YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Thanks Doug!!!! It was a great job working on your bike and had fun teaching an old dog some new tricks!!!:roll::roll:

Here are some pics of Dougs Wire Plus install, the dual oil cooler job that we pieced together, and
the other small stuff.

I mounted the modules under the side covers on the front side exterior of the battery box...

Here was after the job was mostly all tied up and finished...

The dual oil cooler setup is cool! Doug picked up two mismatched units, one had to be turned down
in the lathe to knock the mounting clamp off it so we could install a matched set of clamps...

Here is the bike ready for test ride. It fired right up, topped off the oil and off we went...

Custom is cool!

too be honest it is just 2 BDM oil coolers linked together using the stock oil lines. I got one off E-bay and one from a BDM dealer that shut down a few months ago. Jake and I just played with layout of the lines and it worked out perfect. Used 2 of the short lines and one of the long lines and you see the result. I love the looks of it and I think for riding down here is HOT ASS south west florida it should be great for keeping the temp down.

What is it that goes bad on the EHC?
The reason I ask is that I am a electronics technician and would be interested to see if they are repairable once they go bad

great question, been wondering this for some time. Most of the thoughts are around moisture issues from what I've read, seen or heard...
