My understanding, and when i had my EHC, was that the ehc turned off the signal exactly 10 seconds after you let off the brake lever.
I never seen any tie between engine rpm and signals turning off.

If I sat at a light holding the brake lever or pedal the brake lights would stay on for days...
As soon as i would let off the brake the signals would only stay on for another 10 seconds, long enough to get
Through the turn and they tufn off.

Wire plus self cancel work the same way.

Thank you-seems pretty much the way the EHC was, but it did seem that if you took off the singal would cancel out within a second or two as you came up through the gears, the same if you were not stopping but just switch lanes and then reved it up. But to be honest I could be mistaken, for it has been awhile. Regardless the PDM does not have any feature and the WP does, just trying to see if maybe one of the third party module would work.

Have a safe and enjoyable day.

bdmridgeback, what do get for a wires plus setup, by itself and installed?

The Wire Plus WP374 is $519.95 but members get 10% off with coupon code: bdbiker
So roughly $479 shipped.

I get $350 to do install on a 2004 and $400 on a 2005-11 with my Simple Kit.

If you buy the WP374 and then the switch (wp148) and connector the install is $50 more.

I decided on the BDM PDM unit... wishing I had gone with WP now.
The mechanic was sort of winging it with installing the PDM unit. IT IS NOT PLUG AND PLAY as suggested. And now my engine light stays on... I've trouble shot as much as I know how to, so now it has to go back to the shop...

Sorry to hear that, but if the mechanic installed it wrong or winged it as you said, I don't think it will make any difference if it is WP, PDM or straight old skol.

As I posted in your other thread, if this is EFI (I assume it is with Eng light), then make sure that it is not indicated a ral fault or something. Not familar with the EFI ones, but you may want to call BDPP and see if they may have any suggestions or procedure for Trouble shooting what would make the Engine Light come on. It could indeed be the PDM, but more tha likely it is something with the install or a reall reasons for the light.

Good luck and hopefully someone that is more family with the EFI and the Engine light feature will jump on here also.

4000 miles on my PDM and so far no problems. The only problem I have is I forget to turn off my turn signals :D. Didn't think it would be a big issue.....but apparently I really got used to the self canceling signals when I had the EHC. Maybe I'll get it within the next 4000 miles :D

Currently doing the WP install, living on the other side of the world does not help.
I can't just go over to Jakes place and have a look what he has done, not enough bits in the kit, and the install guild is not written for dummies...............like me.

Still hope it all comes together over the next week

Buy a tube of that electrical grease and use on each connection. Can't think of the name of it at the moment!!!!! Also slide some shrink wrap on to each wire as you are installing. Then come back with a hair dryer. Works great and easy to do.

Working perfectly, self cancelling blinkers and all.
