I wanted to do it and it was recommended by Jake...you don't have to , but I knew the 40 amp fuse would be better than the breaker...

Where did you get fuse and holder from? Or is it something I could find at Radio Shack or something like that???

yep, Gas Man got the 40 amp in line with extra fuse for me, and I bought the 2 in line 30 amp mini blade fuse holders at Radio Shack...1 is for the 20 amp fuse for the WP power and the other is the 30 amp fuse for the power from the key switch...I also bought extra 20 amp and 30 amp fuses...

OK, I can just find at Radio Shack, I was also going to install the Valcun Coils. Would it be better to do all this at the same time???

Here is a little tid bit of information I got from my mechanic, who is/was certified by BD, if you wonder if your EHC is not working correctly, and you wonder if it is a bad battery, so you pull the battery for testing. I was having a problem with my 08 k-9. When I put the key in and turned it to "on", it immediately charged the system and the bike would attempt to start, with lights flashing and horn honking. This is without hitting the run/start buttons. He advised to totally disconnect the battery for 30 min. + and allow the EHC to reset. I did as told, and then it worked properly for several months. It started the same malfunction this spring.... so out came the battery...but the problem continued. I then disconnected the green wire to the starter, turned the key on, allowed the system to charge and cycle, turned it off, re-connected the starter, and whalla ... it worked properly. Twice !!! I am now waiting the arrival of the new WirePlus unit from Jake, and my EHC now has a date with my 40cal. glock. Not only do I hate dealing with electrical problems on motors, but I couldn't tell you the difference between a volt, amp, or ohm. My only expertise with electrical is to lick your fingers and touch the bare wire....if you get knocked on your ass...its hot.
I plan on studying the instructions intently, maybe bugging a few on here that have already done it, and probably test Jake's patience. I will keep everyone posted...because quit literally...if I can do it successfully...anybody can.

Thanks 2 Jake for installing mine a few months ago!! He is the best and will go WAY out of his way to walk you through ANYTHING!!! Think my EHC may have blown out my charging system but all checks came back perfect if I did it right.. I took out the POS battery that I got at advanced and Purchased a Big Boar like Jake mentioned.. They sent me the wrong battery go figure, so wait and see.

Hi, I put a wire plus in my 2007 K-9. I bought it from Jake Tuckey with the members discount. He also provides step by step picture detailed instructions which are very easy to use. He must have spent alot of his time to provide these for his customers. I follwed them step by step and every thing worked perfect.. I"m very happy with my wire plus that i purched from Jake Tuckey. He is a huge asset to this site. I had one problem later on with my starter. It was a broken soleniod wire at the starter. It is also fixed with the help from awesome people on this site. ((( THANKS ))) to all the great people.

I just installed a wire plus kit for a friend that was luckly bought from Jake. Install went smooth and the directions were top notch. everything worked flawless untill i went for a test ride. I ended up having a problem with a bad patch job the owner did on the bike, Jake was qiuck to help out even though it was Saturday night. Thanks for the help Jake. You cant get that any where else

I have the WP installed and have never had any issues with that part of it since. I started the install got into it and cut the wrong pin position damn things are too small. I took it to a shop and had them finish. I don't have any patience. But would recommend the WP for sure!

That is what I found out Paul, the numbers are tooooooo tiny to see so I had to get a magnifying glass to see the numbers along with my glasses. Recominds the magnifying glass and better light than I had in the garage. Ah but I do have "patience", and a bit hard headed. I have never had an issue with my scoot since the install, and Jake helped me through the few issues I had had questions about very quickly and was back on the road. Highly recominds Jake and the wire plus with the new switch as well.

I installed a WP in my '05 Chopper about a year ago, and the only thing I'd do different is use a REALLY good set of crimpers. The cheap ones will work, but as they only crimp at one spot, it's a bit trickier to get a good, secure crimp. That said though, a really good pair of crimpers cost over $100! However, there are places, even on the web, that rent them out.

We did the wire plus kit on Saturday. All went pretty well with the exception of the wire crimps. The 12 gauge wire going to the new key switch was too big to fit into the pin. Some of the smaller wires had to be doubled over to keep from slipping out when crimped. We tried soldering the small wires in, but decided folding the ends over would work and be easier. I found a four point crimping tool at a local electronics store for $40. It did a great job crimping. We did a test pull on each wire and all were secure.
Took the bike out for a short (20 miles) ride and all seems to be working fine, except for the front brake switch which is bad.
Thanks to Jake for supplying the kit.

I did do the fold trick on the first Orange and white wire. And that was the one the first came out when moving the wires to the side to cut some more. After that happened I stopped and went back to solder every wire I installed already. I rather be sure than for it to come loose while riding.
