Just thought I would share some pics of a WirePlus install on my friends 06K9. Site cleared everything including back bone harness and main power harness. We will be installing new harnesses, doing it this way really makes swapping all the wires over to the new connectors alot easier.

Mounted the WirePlus modules to the bottom of the battery tray.

Routed the connectors up to the inside of the right hand battery cover and secured so nothing will rub.

This cleared up the battery tray compartment and will allow for some storage of small items such as gloves, sunglasses and such.

I had to lengthen a couple of wire so there was no strain on them but all in all a fairly simple install.

I agree, I did mine no where near as clean as that. Definatly taking the harness out and installing a whole new one is perferred. I will at some point tear mine down and redo it.

You learn a lot about the WP install after your first one. Wish I did someone else's bike first! haaha

I got to ask.....how did you get the right side cover off without removing the belt guard and the transmisson pully cover off. I've tried to remove my right side cover without taking those off and can't get it off without scratching up the cover. I have a 06 K9 also. Great job on the wire plus, looks factory

Great looking wire job, i suspect mine will look the same, it's in the shop being done today.
i have my reasons for having my shop do this, altough iv done my own work in the past and will continue to do so when i have a bike, being an 8 month owner i expected better from a 25K bike, bastard quit so many times on me i was in NO mood to play with wireing.
Just to enhance and make you feel warm and fuzzy for the money you put into this device, let me say this, your fear of the bike dieing for no good reason will go away fast.
Hell one time i got one block from my house. could never plan a day ride anywhere.

The owner pulled the cover off. He has a system. But I believe that if you go inside the battery tray and loosen the bolts on the bracket that holds the bottom of the cover you can slide the bracket up and this will give you some room. Put some painters tape on the cover and the belt guard and the top of the cover near the rocker box cover and finesse the crap out of it.

Looks good. Who did you get the wires plus from.

The fear of being stranded is the reason I changed my ehc out. I never had any real issues except for water. I believe the ehc does however get blamed for a lot electrical issues that may be a problem somewhere else.
It does get easier each time I do it. I do plan on going back and redoing mine just to clean up the install and rewire my compression releases to the starter solieniod.

PS. thanks for the kudos
