Wire to start button

How is the start button wire connected at the start switch? I'm trying to clean and grease my handle bar controls. Mine has some white grease around the control board and I'm scared to pull it off in fear that it is soldered on.

By no means an expert but you need to disconnect the pin connectors off the board be careful not to snap the pins once you have the wire disconnected I think there are 2 small Phillips head screws that holds the board down in the housing. Remove the screws and the board should pull out with the start switch.

I think the wire is a 5 pin connector it unclips and the you can seperate the wire from the board

Yep you need to pull the control apart and also release your reed switch thats housed in the forward portion of your hand control. Then disconnect the control wire connector see below:

Once you disconnect the wire connector above you'll end up with this:

You will need to remove the four screws shown above. Once those are out the PCB will seperate from the hand control housing. Be careful when removing it from the housing because you dont want to rip the rubber. NOTE three screws were allen heads and one was a phillips. The black wire is the reed switch wire for the rear brakes.

When you seperate the PCB and rubber seal then you can remove the rubber seal and buttons from the PCB, just be careful removing the buttons from the rubber seal, it can be ripped easily.

Sorry it's a little out of focus but this is the PCB hooked up to the connector while I was tracking down a short: Good luck
