wire question on PDM install

INFO: 2004 Ridgeback PDM install
Everything was going great. Ehc is out. Connections cleaned. New PDM in place. New wiring harness thru backbone. While installing the connectors (as per fig.6 from the install instructions) the first 8 went on great. of course the last one has to be difficult. It's for the tach annunciator. 8 wires (black, orange, violet, green over red, blue, brown and yellow) problem is the new harness has no yellow but 2 greens for that connector. :bang:
Anyone else come across this problem with their installs?
I tried calling bdmpp and of course they are closed weekends.

The color codes on my start relay were mixed up and it still worked. Seems like a lot of the wiring schematics don't coincide with the wire colors.

Hey LI... Post up what you find out and how happy you are with the 2004 PDM. Thinking of going that route as the WP modules seem to be causing people problems.

Good luck!

I am very pleased with the pdm from bdmpp. I worked on it for about 2 hours the first day and that was when I ran into the harness wire problem. With bdmpp closed on weekends I put it off until today. They were very helpful over the phone with where to check for continuity on sorting out the two green wires. It took about 2.5 more hours today to finish her up. In all it was a well put together kit. All of the connectors that didn't have to go thru the backbone were done and the ones that did have to go thru were already tape wrapped for the job and had the pins soldered on thier ends. The hardest part was getting the wires zip tied to the backbone tight enough to get the tank to sit.

Just had my ehc replaced with the big dog pdm kit and now tach is inoperative

Was told that I need a different tach as the ignition module is now not used? Any help is appreciated

Mine worked fine with the original tach as well as the Dakota Digital. What do you mean the ignition module is not used??? The ignition module on my 05 was for sure sued and still is, the PDM did nothing to change that out, hook the connectors right up to it. Who said that you need a new tach due to ignition module not being used.

Sound to me more like they need to make sure the tach and annunciator are properly wired, there was two different ways to do it depending if you had the original type odometer or the newer BD Medallion one.

Read my post you will have to do a continuity check on the neutral light wire from the switch connector to the plug this will tell you where to put which green wire. One is the neutral light and the other the tach signal send

You have to use your old existing wires from the ignition module. It is not supplied in the new kit.

Yes you have to use the 12 inch extension from the old harness. It should be zip tied to the backbone harness
